LGR - Avermedia Audio Devices

Caleb Bott

Well that's a bummer. All the more reason to stick with my Turtle Beach headset!

Jason Dixon

Its a shame that the devices look badass and it doesn't work great, especially for high price point. I'm glad that they fix that Live Gamer Extreme device because i had thoughts about getting that one! for the use of my Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, and have the LGP for PS3 console (since that one haves a special cable)!

LGR

They do indeed. Entirely too many other great options for less money out there.

Ryan Miller

For an extra $12 you can buy a Blue Microphones Yeti, which offers WAY superior quality than this mic. Also, those speakers could be better. Avermedia needs to step their game up.

RetroSwim

Haha that music "Drives Me Crazy snare" :D

LGR

The point? I genuinely do not know... as I said, "Why? Just Why?" :D

CuppaKofe (Brandon)

100 dollars for that? I can't even see someone buying that thing for the looks, it's the ugliest piece of tech I've ever seen. It pretty much encompasses everything I hate about "gamer" brands like Razer, cheap parts with a bunch of robotic looking shit and LEDs. You can get a Blue Snowball for like 60 bucks, so what the hell is the point of something like this?

LGR

Marketing really is hilarious sometimes. Heh, and I'm not sure what my facial hair is doing. Guess we'll see!

Lindsay Michelle

I love those unnecessarily ornate button names -- Kinetic Muting Lever? Assassin button??? It just screams marketing people trying to be hip and cool like the kids these days. haha I know people keep commenting on your beard, but I can't help but admire your 'stache :) You going for a full goatee?

Alyxx the Rat

A dishonest review is kind of insulting to the company in my opinion cause the whole point of a review is to critique a product and tell the company what they need to improve...

LGR

Yeah, I think many people are scared they'll lose their "connection" or something. But it just doesn't work like that anyway, and people will see through your BS

LGR

Yup, and I actually prefer a timeless, classic look anyway.

LGR

Doing my best to stay honest!

LGR

Thanks!

LGR

A very certain "l33t gaemrr" type indeed.

LGR

I certainly don't, but I don't mind giving it a look! I end up giving this stuff away afterward anyway

LGR

Not entirely, haha

LGR

Oh I'm not in the market for a new mic, they just sent me this one. How else would I be recording the show if I didn't have an array of mics? :) But thanks for the suggestion!

Ezydenias

Man this is the worst mic I've ever seen (I am not saying anything about speakers because speakers by no name or gaming brands are bullshit in my book) Really, my Auna Mic is allot better. I say get yourself a decent USB Mic for 70 Bucks and a nice microfon table stand or something like that. That is allot more comfortable.

Ezydenias

Nice nuke, do you still need a launcher?

Michael Hogan

Meh. Modern electronics. To pick up on another comment - the beard's not coming back, right?

I'm glad you are unbiased in hardware reviews when companies send you crap. Who needs all that junk around anyway?

Kris Asick

They clearly went for aesthetics over function... and even then it takes a certain kind of person to want those aesthetics. :B

Maximilien Noal

I must say : nice beard ! :o

Rob Caporetto

Wow. I though the microphone was enough of a disappointment, but all in all, it's a totally disappointing set of hardware there. I think like everyone else, I'd rather a set which is a little more plain looking, but does a better job at reproducing or recording sound. Love how you're straight up with this review as well.

Alyxx the Rat

Seems like they're doing what a lot of companies seem to be doing nowadays. Spend a lot of money on design, but cutting costs on components. I'd rather have some not-flashy mic or speakers that work like they should rather than expensive flashy stuff that only works halfway...

Christian Østergaard

Very nice with the honest reviews, sometimes youtuber's who recieve free products from company's are not handing out truly honest critism of the products since they do not want the company's stop sending them products to review.

LGR

*sniiiiifff!* Smells like cut costs!

LGR

I showed the entirety of the software in the video. There are no settings other than "on" or "off."

You briefly alluded to the idea but... I know you're the kind of user to dig into stuff but there weren't any software settings for the microphone that might improve the experience?

Vaughn

I can smell the cheap plastic from here.
