When you get all excited and gutteral I have to double check if I'm watching Lazy Game Reviews or Regular Car Reviews!

you just need to lie in a bath with tiled walls now to really nail that jim tone ;)

Man that microphone. That's so awesome.

The video link is not working. At least not through the Android application.

Collecting far too many pieces of vintage audio equipment :P

Totally, he's probably my favorite channel these days!
I love those episodes. There are no trift stores like that in Germany.

Noticed that the floppy drive LED came on after you hit reset, this is probably a good sign, as it says the motherboard is doing /something/. The monitor is rastering, but the gun is stuck "on", hence being able to see the retrace lines. More good signs, it means most of the power supply circuitry (the dangerous bits anyway) is probably good. As others have suggested, it could be as simple as a failed-short or failed-open coupling cap on the display signal path. Fingers crossed dude, that is one hell of a find!!!

Hey, nice shout-out to Techmoan! Great to know you watch him too! :)

$260 for a Genesis? Goodwill, stahp... D8. No Genesis is worth that much, not even the rarer model 1 system that has no copyright screen. At least the NES bundle came with a bunch of games, but still, dat price though. Really hoping you get the Model 3 working. Would be a nice system to get an expanded look on. And $2.50 for a Das Keyboard? I salute you and your thrift -fu skills.
I just don't get it Clint. I NEVER find anything at my local Goodwill (only have one). Found this a little over a week ago: https://twitter.com/herr_essex/status/749418357351325697

Favorite comment: "I'm not quite Techmoan but I'm getting there..." What are you up to, Clint?! ;)

Nice score on the Model III! Hopefully there'll be someone who can give you the right advice for getting the display sorted out. Certainly in rather nice condition :D As for that portable VCR, my Dad had something along those lines (though it was BETA) - if it was for the same use, it's intended to go over the shoulder connected to a video camera. Yeah, you can imagine how painful that would sound after a long day of recording things.
LGR
I really hope it's that simple!
LGR
Hope you enjoy it! The video, that is, maybe not the work :P
LGR
Thanks!
LGR
Hoping so too, it looks so good
LGR
Yep! Which is why I said in the video I'm looking for the *original* one ;)

FYI Clint, they remade that handheld electronic football game that you mentioned. Amazon has it for $13. https://www.amazon.com/Basic-Fun-09506-Football-Electronic/dp/B013CNKVD2

great haul, great video....

Display could be a number of simple issues. I've seen this a lot on old Macs I've worked with and had repaired. Most likely some bad caps on the motherboard and you should be able to find someone who can do this fairly inexpensively (
Can't wait to watch when I get off work.
