I don't know what is planned, but it looks like betwen the house roof and and your living room was a livingroom roof.^^ Honestly I would keep it out and just have this insanly high roof, with direct access to the attic, and built out the attic to nice living quarters and some easily accesible shelves. Open it up real good. Would look fantastic. But maybe the heating bills could climb up if not dammed properly. And I kinda know that american houses are not up to german standards.

Since I had to evacuate my home and move, the big boxes are all in storage, as are the systems to run most of them.

Nice, it's a heckuva roomy case so I'm glad to hear one's still in service! Gotta admire the DIY LCD as well. Still haven't unboxed my Mozart TX from the box it shipped in, I believe it's new old stock. It'll be quite the fun future episode.

Would like to see some testing videos for sure when you get round to it. Maybe just blerbs style stuff or whatever depending how you feel recording it. It's always sad to see retrotech get damaged or some packaging destroyed but these things happen. And I don't think you should feel any worse if it was a donation. You are not a safekeeper. Not like this stuff is in your control. I'll even put my neck out and say if anyone feels they got betrayed or whatever due to this then they don't understand what donating means and can just pound sand. You are rattled by all this, don't take any more unnecessary weight on yourself.

I have the Mozart TX tower that 7" drive bay LCD goes in. The Aluminum version. I had a lot of fun finding one in Australia back in the day, got mine shipped from QLD to SA. I couldn't afford the TT LCD back then so I cut a hole in the mesh and installed a head rest LCD in the front of the case back then. It's a great PC for taking to LANs. Get's lots of attention and is super easy to see towering over everything else. I still use the case for my main PC, with a mini ITX DIY NAS in the second motherboard spot (Running Unraid). I made 3D files for 3D printed bracket/clamp so that I could upgrade the front panel ports from USB 2 and firewire to USB 3.1 and USB C. I have not posted them anywhere yet. I had mine full of red LED fans and a couple Red Cold Cathodes. In 2022/2023 I upgraded them all to the Corsair RGB fans so I could finally for fill my dream of Orange Case fans. Mostly they beam rainbow into the room because I paid good money for all those colours! I even put an RGB fan into the PSU. I replaced the dead head rest LCD that I had in the front with a 1080p Field Monitor last year (LILLIPUT). At lans I leave it playing a slide show of my 3D printed stuff. Back in the day I'd use for monitoring file transfers.

I tried something like that with a musty manual, just without the freezing step. It didn’t completely remove the odor for me. The freezer idea is interesting, though.

When I buy used console games they often smell of mould a little. I read that if I put the manual in a bag with some baking soda and put it in a freezer of 2-3 days it will suck the mould and the smell. I tried it with a couple of my manuals and it was a pain in the back to remove the baking soda from between the pages. At first it seemed like it did nothing put it away but later I smelled the manual of one of the game I know I treated and the smell was gone. Maybe the climate in my room is better than the place it was originally kept or maybe the baking soda+freezing did it's thing afterall.

Your PC case seems to be a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Shift 2. You can get a new case and transfer the woodgrain panels. Looks super cool, I'm also looking to get a Phanteks case (a Phanteks Eclipse in white with white components for it)
