Please keep this series going! I agree that "LGR Reacts" is a terrible name. I hate the recent trend of react videos that feature little to no effort/content from the person "reacting". What you're doing is actually informative. I agree with someone ahead of me that suggested "LGR Commentary".

Love these videos! Your passion really comes out with these! If it ever becomes a series I think "LGR Snapshots" would be a good name. Watching Computer Chronicles in 2025 feels like looking into a small snapshot of a completely different time (even if in the grand scheme of things, ~40 years isn't all that long)

It is surprising how long it took LCDs to become mainstream. I couldn't say the year but I recall Sharp showing a 20" LCD TV at a AV show. It had its own display room with security guards like the DeBeers diamonds. I think yield was the problem. In the late 1990s my boss gave up on getting an LCD monitor after taking back three which all had loads of duff pixels. Away from computers it was great to see the Sharp Viewcam. We bought one in 1998 for a trip to New York. Even then we got lots of comments about how small and convenient it was.

Clint, I'm definitely enjoying these Computer Chronicles re-watches, as they're definitely different from YouTuber's React videos as it's just a video of you going "wow!" "mind blown" or whatever mindless commentary is put out there. Your passion and knowledge is definitely on display as you watch these videos, and that's what makes it interesting for me. It'd be fun to see you do the same kind of segment for Apple Keynotes and other tech companies' big event. I remember watching Computer Chronicles on Saturdays after I had just finished doing my chores for the day - this bring back some good memories, so thank you for that. I also enjoy the rabbit holes of you chasing down the random products that pop up and pique you're interested. I'd like to see a segment on the 'hypeware' (the next *BIG THING* that they were hyping up at the shows, but never happened).

Deinterlacing the archived MPEGs really transforms these episodes, yeah! I didn't know that the interlaced versions were a thing until some comments let me know about it after the Christmas episode.

These are fun. But honestly I feel the novelty might wear off at some point. These are great for bad situtations like you have now tho. Copyright things might also pose a headache with these. I'm certainly not against for an occasional video like this just maybe in moderation. As for what to call these, maybe LGR commentary? It's more accurate and sounds better than just react in my opinion.

Another idea: you create a series that is dedicated to exploring content on Archive.org. It just so happens so far you've exclusively looked at the Computer Chronicles archives. In this series you could also talk about digital software preservation and your role in that.

I think the name "LGRewind" would be fun. But on the other hand I don't think that all videos that are similar should be required to be part of a named "series", since it implies there will be somewhat regular entries in the future.

Love the new idea! Sitting here show-and-telling my 20yr old son how mind-blowing some of this stuff was back in the day.... and how many of them fizzled without exploding like the video phones and, ultimately, the mini-disc. As soon as I saw that green stripe on that IBM I was like "Adrian just did one of those!" Also, have my vote for LGR Rewind

Another great video Clint! Always great to see these time-capsules of the past. It's amusing seeing CES when it was actually focused on CONSUMER electronics. I've worked at the show the last ~5 years, and over half of it I wouldn't classify as such: AI scams, startups that will be lucky to be around next year, Chinese companies with alphabet soup names all offering the same e-waste, and companies that don't offer products/services to end users. There is still neat stuff to be found, but each year gets harder to find it amongst the tat.

I agree - watchalong is what I consider this. You're not really _reacting_ to it much - you're adding some context or additional anecdotes, which is more like "watching something with an informed friend"

All of the computer chronicles incidental music gets a content match, so might need to do some editing or let YouTube Studio suggest muting the copyrighted audio. I got a positive reaction covering a show before, but I agree that "xxx reacts" is such a cringy string that I don't want to be known for it. Maybe you can come up with a better title... (Also, thank you for deinterlacing the computer chronicles show correctly to 60p.)
