What's the president's job, anyway?
🕑 Added 2024-02-06 12:27:55 +0000 UTCA lot of folks these days don't seem to understand exactly what the President of the United States can and cannot do. That's why I made this video, as a matter of fact!
I probably should have made it ages ago. I literally dusted off my old textbooks and lesson plans from when I taught in the classroom to write the script.
Speaking of which, one day I may have to go back to the classroom if I don't make enough money from doing this full-time, so I wanted to again thank you for supporting me on here. It means so much.

Yeah, and I think it’s important to remember inflation has been worldwide. The Great Depression wasn’t just in the US, either. That’s not to say presidents bear no responsibility, but many times economics aren’t isolated to one country.

The thing about inflation that most people forget is that it's a lagging indicator, meaning what causes it often happens years before it happens. So even if presidents DID cause inflation, logically the inflation we experienced in 2021-2022 could easily be blamed on stuff that happened during Trump's presidency.

Very informative. The presidential role can be summed up as power begets power. Also, I always loved the “thanks Obama” refrain whenever anything went wrong during his tenure.
