like the idea of the game but them crashes are brutal... imma take a break till game works

It depends. Crashes that are caused by the renderer and/or engine itself are often outside of my control to fix whether they happen now or later. If the game crashes and it's reproducible then that's great of course since I can actually fix it :)

It's ok if it crashes, it's still an alpha version. It could be the easiest way to find bigger problems.

Let's not celebrate too early, it might crash later :) The shortcut now sets the rendering-method to a compatibilty method instead of only changing the driver to opengl3 from vulcan.

No idea why but now it runs. It was probably a good idea to drop the idea to create game, even with even with the training I have

Are you using the latest Hotfix? If the crash is repeatable, could you send a bug report using F8?

Unfortunately it just crashed after the third battle but we must not forget that this is only a test run

I do know why, it uses an OpenGL3 driver instead of Vulcan. This is compatible with more PCs, but it's slower during combat. I'll make it a setting next version so you (and other people with this problem) don't have to use a shortcut trick.

I don't know why but starting it through the shortcut worked.

You can download the Godot version I'm using https://godotengine.org/article/dev-snapshot-godot-4-4-dev-4/#downloads and clone and try and run the git version https://gitgud.io/madodev/ero-hunters, that helped for at least one person in the Discord. What might also work is creating a shortcut, then going to the shortcut, right-clicking and under Properties append --rendering-driver opengl3 to the Target

Hi, i don't know why but the game crashes every time i start a new game. My PC is not really old and my drivers are up to date. Any ideas?

Ero Dungeons uses an older version of Godot and an older renderer in that version, so it's compatible with more older PCs. Maybe updating your drivers works? If that doesn't work, and you're willing to spend some time troubleshooting, you can download the Godot version I'm using https://godotengine.org/article/dev-snapshot-godot-4-4-dev-4/#downloads and clone and try and run the git version https://gitgud.io/madodev/ero-hunters That should give a clearer view of what's causing the issue. Game crashes for me all the time. It might be my ancient PC, but still. Dungeons works just fine, so I don't know. I can open the game and then when I try to start a new game from the main menu I get a black screen and it crashes. I can't access anything under "Debug views" either. Same issue.
