SPOILER, he is a pedo, in greed island he looked at gon and killua creepily, the fact he is a pedo is plain as day
To this day, that one colorful Hisoka scene kills me. Animators and voice actor were probably questioning their life choices.

not to defend Hisoka, because he is definetively a creepy and immoral guy, but I'm pretty sure he just likes gon for fighting him later purposes and not the ''traditional'' pedophilic tendencies, and him not wanting to do anything to Gon besides from fighting and killing him when he's at his best. Still weird and creepy and him getting off from fighting strong/interesting people is def still sus as hell
