NinjaOfOrthanc

Huh. Interesting. Thanks for answering :)

Sebastian Pop

It's how the Anglo-Saxons did it.

NinjaOfOrthanc

Where did you find the punishment for rape? or was it something you came up with yourself?

Sebastian Pop

Glad to hear it. Hopefully I'll nail the execution.

Adam Daw

Great chapter, still love this concept. 10/10

Sebastian Pop

I agree, that's why I trawled the lore of named characters instead of inventing OCs everywhere,

Zerak

Yah, I guess the gate being broken is a massive shift in the dynamic of the world. But that is like a change in the setting, while this is a change in the fate of someone important. Granted the gate being destroyed would have also done that with enough time since events that would have happened would no longer happen, but as I don’t know the setting I don’t know how much that is. But someone who would have ended up as a great evil potentially not doing that is something more tangible for me.

Sebastian Pop

You're not bugging me at all. The White Dove is the goddess Shallya. (https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Shallya)

Zerak

Also sorry if I am bugging you with basics still (don’t know much about WH fantasy other than the basics about the winds). What is that wife feather and the dove?

Sebastian Pop

It's been thirteen years of knock-on effects, things going off-script was inevitable.

Zerak

So massive butterfly effect as time passes.

Who is the guy that picked up the totem neckless?

Sebastian Pop

I'm glad you think so.

Vincent Mason

Another delightful chapter.

Sebastian Pop

I went and added a small paragraph about this to the last POV, which is now Prince Elliriad instead of Teclis. Thanks for drawing attention to it, I didn't realize how negatively it could come across.

Sebastian Pop

Hardly a minor apocalypse, more like one of the rowdier years that are common to the setting. With the exception of the full Dark Elf invasion, that's just opportunistic and would've happened anyway, because the Asur are weaker than ever with Magic cut in half. Also, he decided to set whatever he could off on his own terms, instead of waiting for all the bad guy to finish ALL their preparations. TlDr: he didn't cause an apocalypse, he forced some people to act sooner than they would've liked.

Robert H.

Thanks for the chapter! I take it the Extremis treatment is the source of his healing? Also, I'm curious to hear more of his thoughts on why provoking a minor apocalypse was worth doing at the moment. We don't really get an explanation beyond 'it was the best choice at the time' here, and I'd like to know why he felt that way.
