Dino Run 2 - First Multiplayer, Physics & Art Test
🕑 Added 2023-01-27 15:41:19 +0000 UTCHello all,
I am extremely excited to present the first actual footage of our work over the past few months, bringing together progress on realtime multiplayer, parallax scrolling, physics & object animation, amongst other things! Some additional notes:
- What you see here is peer-to-peer multiplayer involving a host & guest. They connect to each other using the host's IP address. Both players see the exact same thing (which we could never say about Dino Run 1...)
- The physics can get way more complex. We can easily stack things, create angry-bird-like structures and topple them, etc.
Next steps: dynamically coloring the raptors, improving gameplay and making something that all funders, patrons and backers can play... soon :)

This hub area is really nice. It’s fun to play with out the doom sometimes and play around.

Ooooooh yesss, this looks awesome! I love that the egg has dynamic shadows and that parallax is buttery smooth! It breaks my brain a little that the teeter-totter is solid but not it's fulcrum, but I don't mind video game logic 😂 I like the idea of building mini-games with the systems, like angry birds, could be fun to have some party game mode
