I love this show - it's just as you said, real. At least it feels real to me. It's just these people and their lives. It's an emotional journey for all of them. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far :) (also, yes, you will love Doris, she is the best)

I've seen snippets of 'Heartbreak High' and that definitely looks more like my sort of thing.

Yeah, I'm feeling the same as you two. Not sure about it yet. It's not exciting me as much as 'Heartstopper', 'Young Royals' and 'SKAM'. Personally, I would have liked to have seen Jackie review the other seasons of 'SKAM' first, but it's all ok. We all respond differently to different things! 😊

For a first episode, I liked it. The main characters are interesting, especially Patrick. I enjoyed the humor of the dialogues. Although it is still not clear what the story is, it held my attention.

I live in SF and remember when this was being film. Lots of scenes in my neighborhood (The Castro). Never watched it, since we didn't have cable and no easy access to HBO. I'm enjoying watching for the first time with you all. And, yes, please try to up the volume.

I am also unsure. Been thinking about it, which is a good sign, but think I need to see a couple more episodes to figure out the characters and the feel of the show properly. Russell Tovey has to be a pull.

Hmm, not sure I'm going to like this, I don't know why though 🤔 maybe when Russell Tovey turns up I might like it more! I was okay with the volume as I had the random subtitles again so I just read what they were saying!!

For once, I’m literally watching this along with you for the first time, since I don’t have HBO. And yes, it’s much more adult than the other shows you’ve reacted to here, which is perfectly fine. I agree that Jonathan Groff is a cutie, and I mostly know him from cast recordings, so it’s fun to see him as the lead of a full series. You’re correct that that is Murray Bartlett, who is not only in “The Last of Us” but also played Michael “Mouse” Tolliver in the 2019 revival of “Tales of the City” (a show I have loved in every one of its incarnations, including the original novels). The volume on the show itself was a bit low, so I had to really listen hard to catch all of the dialogue, so you might consider raising the volume on the episode, while keeping your volume the same.

Congratulations on picking this, it's brilliant. Wait until Russell Tovey appears (but I guess you've already seen that). You may find it difficult to put it on YouTube without editing it to death. 😂

Hmmm, I enjoyed the humour of this. Don’t know why, but I wasn’t expecting it to be funny. The characters are interesting and I am definitely in agreement that the ending entices you to watch the next episode. I am not sure what I think yet, because like you, I don’t really have a sense of who’s who and exactly what’s happening, but I expect that will become more apparent in future episodes. 🤔
