another thing I find really sick about what August does is that he does it to get back at WILLE who embarrassed him in front of his group. He does it to hurt Wille but it’s not Willes face that’s visible in that video it’s SIMONS and he didn’t even spare a thought to how it would affect him.

Jennifer Kitzan

This episode always bothers me because I always see people talking about the classroom scene and how Wille thinks his family is more important and how awful it is that he is asking Simon to take the fall. I always see that scene differently. Wille has no experience dealing with bad situations and to me it always seems like he is looking for some guidance/feedback/discussion with Simon to deal with this situation. I feel like Simon sees the scene the same way most people do. Like Wille is not taking his feelings/life seriously. I always feel like Wille is panicking and not expressing himself well but ultimately wants a solution that is best case scenario for both him and Simon.

It speaks to what the last few days have been like for me that it’s taken me until today to find the time to watch this reaction. Anyway, I agree with some others in perceiving it as Wille deliberately helping to get August’s tuition paid, which ought to make August feel guiltier than it apparently does. I do find myself wondering if Lisa put in the scene with the fish in this episode already knowing that she was going to write the scene with Marcus and the fish, or if it was just a happy accident. I would like to think that it was all planned in advance, because it’s handled so subtly.

No, Jackie, I can't say I know for certain but it's my impression that Wille contacting the Royal Court was for the distinct purpose of solving August's financial problems. Or at least bringing the problem to the Royal Court's attention. (Schooling in Sweden is free through high school but August couldn't pay for room and board.) And, if you remember, August thanks Wille later for intervening.

I found this one, the colour is LAVENDER 😉 https://amzn.eu/d/aPJRR0l

I did an Amazon shirt with a picture of Simon's hoodie and these are the closest I could find that were not crazy expensiveMuscularfit Cotton Long Sleeve Lightweight Hooded Sweatshirts for Men 2023 Fall Fashion Solid Pullover Hoodies Workout Hoodie https://a.co/d/3CFj6Qh CHOO Men's Tech Fleece Pullover Active Lightweight Warm Hooded Sweatshirt https://a.co/d/1kWxm5N I don't know if you were being serious about wanting one but I feel like you also said that in the last reaction to young royals.

Diane Furlong

Great reaction Jackie. Thank You Racing events is a good kind of busy!

I think it is harder to watch the second time because I know what is still to come and it breaks my heart…

Dennis Verner

Yes, Ruth, and as we have discussed so many times, the echoes. Note Wille says, commenting on Simon's room, "mysigt" (cozy). We will hear that word again in another similar context.

Ingrid Machado Pena

You right, Jackie, it's absolutely beautiful! ♥️♥️♥️

Another reason to love this episode is how telling it becomes when we see the parallel scene in season 2 episode 4, when Markus asks Simon the names of his fish. For him, they don’t have names. I remember thinking then (and many other times, too) that the elegant economy of the writing in this series is something completely special.

MIchelle Arbery

Fascinating how in Wille's mind dealing drugs is "low" but wealthy guys using the drugs isn't?

MIchelle Arbery

Malte is brilliant as August

IAmom

Lucia is a Swedish, Norwegian and Danish tradition which happens on December 13th. I interpret it as Wille having asked them to pay the tuition. Never thought of it any other way.

This episode is one of my favourites. I'm so sad this show is ending but I'm also excited to see what happens. I want to know if the TV microscope articles on substack are right in their theories. A lot of them look right based on what I have seen so far. I'm glad we get watch it with you so we can prolong the experience.

MIchelle Arbery

Simon happily rolling around on the bed at the end of the opening scene is magic. Perfect editing and great acting throughout.

Ruth May

Oh good! Probably my favourite episode of all, if I had to choose, because of the scene with Simon’s fish. Just beautiful. 🫠
