Shit, Damn, M'fer is one of my faves from this album. I love the eeriness of it for the reasons you both described. He asks the questions as if he's in disbelief that he's actually seeing what he sees between his wife and friend. Then he dissociates during the act of murder. It almost makes it relatable because he's not raging. So creepy but so good! I haven't heard many songs that insight that kind of feeling.

This is one of my favs!! In my opinion, his best of the 3 albums recorded. I used to fire up the 'wacky tabacky' & listen to music around this time in the 90s 💨 SN: "Lady" the older song was written by Lionel Ritchie and sung by Kenny Rogers

I’ve never heard Parliament and I don't think Kai has either but we both know they are important to the history of music and have had an influence on rap as far as samplings go. We’re thinking of maybe doing a dual reaction to an entire Parliament LP at some point but not sure which one. Any suggestions?

There's a lot of missing context in regard to the timeframe of the album debut and culturally how we moved in the community that primarily support this genre; the early 90s needed the peace and exploration of neo-soul cause we're surviving the crack epidemic as discussed in the Rap albums that came at the same time. D'Angelo gave us what we needed
