Please do Opposites Attract by Kendrick that song is so deep and sad. I bet your dad would appreciate it and dissect the psychology behind it and emotion. Also a lot of the audience may not have heard it but if they took the time to would appreciate it and maybe even relate.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is essentially a reflection and independent analysis on Kendrick’s life. This album is his most confessional body of work revolving around his own experiences and realizations during his therapy journey throughout recent years.

So I’ll touch on why Whitney says she proud. If you remember at the beginning of the album she tells him that he needs therapy and truthfully this album is like multiple therapy sessions. So by the end of the album he’s confronted and healed from multiple “generational curses” and traumas that we face in the black community. Such as Daddy-issues, homophobia, harsh judgements within the church, molestation, conflict between the black woman/man, coping through sex and materialism, losing loved ones, lack of emotional support, etc. Things that we typically keep quiet about or simply ignore and move forward. So him addressing these things makes him a better partner, father, artist. Just an all around better person, which is something to be proud of. Also note he said: I bare my soul and now we’re all free. It’s a freeing experiencing for not only himself but for many who have been unable to speak about these things.
