Haven’t watched the 2nd part yet but just wanted to say what a good job you’ve done recreating the stress and anguish of such a time. I lived in the foothills of Mt Hotham in Victoria in Australia and have gone through this scenario a few times - my “fire plan” was to always evacuate. Actually lost my house in 2006/7 fires. This brought back how traumatic it was. Yes, I was fortunate to be insured (which must be harder/impossible in your situation) but 8 months of uncertainty was hard. When burning embers start falling and it gets as black as night at 3pm you know you’re in trouble. A tip for Amber get a small round metal sprinkler that you can pop out in the roof to keep it wet so nothing ignites. The CFA Victoria have some really good fire preparedness advice. https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/before-and-during-a-fire/fire-ready-kit You have to assume you’re on your own in these situations so really need to be proactive. I even have a “grab bag” here in Scotland 🤓

Who else has been checking here all weekend hoping for an update?

Trig and Indy

This website has loads of european official aires and stopovers. Hope it helps. https://sites.google.com/view/wildcampingmotorhomes/european-aires-camper-stops

Stephen Williamson

Hope its all good mate and no real damage for use 🙈

Mr. Berg

Not video specific related but I'll try this post here if someone can help(remove if not suited): Does anyone know of any websites listing (official) Aires on the continent as in France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy etc? I'm familiar with the apps Park4night, Searchforsites and Stellplatz but have found no listings. Even the correct name for an Aire equivalent in the different countries would be helpful for a newbie.

Cliff hanger or what…. Glad your all safe .

TheDans34

An amazing video (in terms of how it was put together) , certainly a chilling video, happy to hear you guys are okay

Ste Tomlinson

Bloody hell! Like everyone else, I’m so glad you’re all safe and well. Scared just doesn’t cover how you must have felt. Sending all 3 of you big hugs. ❤️👍💪

Susan twomey

So scary

Brian Brown

On the screen it looks very scary indeed in person it must have been terrifying, so glad the 3 of you are safe and are OK.

Maxine

So emotional watching this, I am so so glad you are all safe and pray the land wasn't touched 🙏🙏🙏 xx

Richard Clements

This is emotional even though I know the outcome, I think in a weird way this is one of your best ever videos!

Dreaded scots lass

Really scary 😟

Jjules1506

Really glad you are all safe. It’s absolutely devastating for the whole area

Wes Andrews

Glad you safe guys, hoping it missed you land 🤞🏼✌🏼❤️

Pete Etheridge

I remember you sending me an email (in response to my, in hindsight, totally banal request about van electrics) while you were in the middle of this. As a forester, and having been caught up in wildfires before, this send shivers down my spine - always a truly scary situation...

AntLab

I have no words.😳😳🫡

Neal Livett

glad you are all safe , hope it all turns out to be ok

Chris Evans

Very, very sobering watch that dude.
