Mountain-top Repairs - Broken Up: Ep.3
🕑 Added 2024-09-22 15:42:49 +0000 UTCDiscovering a damaged brake line on the van only after climbing a ridiculously steep mountain road meant we were a little stuck. tackling the climb down was not something I wanted to do and could easily result in cascading down the seemingly bottomless ravine. I had the spare parts but my WD-40 was gone with the wind and I would find even more parts needed replacing once diving into the fix. Thankfully the bike was on the back and allowed me to venture out for supplies (or help if it comes to it) and armed with Rostloser Apprehensively begun taking my van apart.

In the days when I used to do self maintenance on my cars I kept a ring spanner with a small angle grinder cut through the ring just big enough to pass over the metal pipe. Saved me rounding many a brake pipe nut.

I don't know how I just got around to watching this tonight but the ECP bit was spot on. Your battle with the ball joint and the brake lines was very much reminiscent of me last week fighting with the wishbones on my car, who in the right mind designs something where you have to lower and pull forwards the full subframe to get a bolt out!? Another excellent video, a van build before next summer is a must I think

"Cold plunged, bathed off and removed of ancient Italian poo particles" hahaha love it. You are so good with the post narration.

The comedy ad was brilliant 🤣🤣 Please CJ, at least throw your wheel under the van to give some protection if the jack fails or slips. Not trying to be dramatic but my Dad lost a good mate who'd been working alone when his jack failed 🙁

Love the views, love the VGG reference and- as a mechanic- love the euros antiad. Will be showing the lads at work that tomorrow 😂

I’m driving to the Dolomites tomorrow. This is giving me epic vibes. Once the van is packed, I’ll sit down with a few beers and give it a watch. Thanks, CJ
