Task Pileup
🕑 Added 2021-01-25 18:28:11 +0000 UTCBeing more prone to distractions and avoidance leads to pileup, frustration, guilt, and overwhelm. I often get βstuckβ and constantly feel like Iβm behind. When I finally do complete tasks... I feel so ashamed of how long it took that itβs hard to feel proud of myself for the accomplishment.

Gosh yes !!!
Love everything about this and am going to go and eat a snack.
What's the audiobook? Dinosaurs rock. Then again, I could count listening to a dinosaur audiobook as a work task....
You're in my head again.

So real. My boss just reminded me - nicely, but for like the 3rd time - about a terrifically boring task she wants done, so what am I doing? KNITTING. With an audiobook about dinosaurs. I'm 45% enjoying it, 55% feeling guilty and ashamed, but that 45% has inertia on its side, so...

This is painfully real. The drawing and the commentary.
How did you sketch my portrait without ever meeting me? Incredible!

I love how some balls just fall out through holes in the sides! perfect.
Oh mercy, that's me. I finally took down my christmas tree yesterday. It feels like an Accomplishment, but it's also ridiculous for it to be an accomplishment.
So relatable! The work tasks are building up, especially the more challenging ones/boring ones, and I am doing everything but. The shame is overwhelming, but still not doing them.
I am SO doing this right now. Itβs time to get busy grading papers and putting Canvas pages together. Oh, and clean the kitchen. And all the other things. Aah! So what did I do this weekend? Hyper focus and read three books. π
