An Update
🕑 Added 2014-10-07 10:47:09 +0000 UTC Hello, you! I mentioned this on Twitter today, and just wanted to keep you peeps in the loop too. I'll talk about this in the update vid n'all, but just a quick update in the meantime. Basically my other half had to go in for some unexpected and rather serious surgery last month - the details of which I won't go into - which was why I decided to put work to one side to focus on looking after her. After she was out of hospital and on the mend a bit, I decided that getting back to work might be good for me - and switched the Patreon money pipe back on. Unfortunately over the past few days there have been some minor complications, and whilst we're hopefully not back to square one, the next week at least may be a little bumpy. So yes, apologies for announcing that I was coming back and then remaining a little bit quiet - curveballs haven't been kind to us lately, but mentally I'm in a much better state and ready to start working again. Stuff will be made, just not as much stuff as usual. If I'd known that things would continue to be hairy I would have quietly kept the money-pipe closed for another month, but unfortunately this is the hand I've been dealt. My work is important, but right now it doesn't come first. If that's a problem for you - and honestly, it's 100% reasonable if it is - then please do feel free to remove your pledge for the time being. I didn't want to bring sympathy into this, which is why I decided to stay quiet in the first place - but at this stage some sort of explanation is required. Cheers again for your patience and support, regardless of whether you're a Benefit Sponger or just a nice sort who enjoys my work. I really do appreciate it. Speak soon! Matt xComments

I agree with what Kirill said, this isn't so much about "I am giving a fiver in exchange x-amount of videos for my quids", it's about giving someone who's work you admire more freedom to create—and if that needs you to take some down time for important stuff like looking after those you love and dealing with the emotional pressure that goes with that, I am actually okay with that. All kinds of respect for deciding that you should pause on it for the month, because to be honest it must have felt like there would be pressure you didn't actually need, and if it does stress you out to have it on then by all means pause it whenever... but I think a lot of people here would still be willing to throw money at your face, having judged your output and situation and finding it actually okay to be a bit slower when things are shit, because that's how this stuff works. :) Hope things go alright, take it steady and best wishes to you both.
