Another Bloody Update
🕑 Added 2014-10-16 11:12:58 +0000 UTC No point in an update video this week as it's exactly the same as last week, except a bit worse. Spending the free time and energy I have to slowly work on videos for the channel, but yes - I'll avoid repeating myself for the time being. Regarding the future of the Patreon and the channel, to be perfectly honest right now I'm not sure - I face an extremely difficult period that will last for a minimum of six-months, and I'm still getting my head around what that means for the rest of my life. I should have an answer for that at some point soon, but the best case scenario remains 'Much Less Workβ’'. It's been a terribly rough week, but in the short term things aren't all bad. Last night Daft Souls won an award, and my mum has come to stay with me for a few days to do wonderful and boring things like cooking me dinner. I've also been inundated with incredibly touching messages of love and support - some from friends, some from stranger - which I can assure you has made a genuine difference. As ever, I'll keep you in the loop as soon as I've got a sense of what the plan is. I always knew that crowd-funding was very much a leap into the Ethical Wild West, but I guess I was a bit too naive to consider the possibility of running into such a strange and awful situation. I'll work it out as soon as possible though, and - as ever - I'll be as honest as I can. Love you all, be good to each other! Matt xComments
Just caught up with the last update and podcast, am running a bit behind. As as has been said before a patron in the truest sense signs up to help provide an environment for an artist to be creative and that includes the ups and downs of both life and the creative process. Please ease off or have another break if that is what you need to keep going. Honestly $5 a month is nothing in the scheme of things, I get that much value just knowing you are out there having great ideas and standing up for the good guys. As a girl and a gamer (probably should say woman given I have been over 40 for a couple of years now) all the crap and hatred being bandied around just makes me want to give up on the whole scene. It sounds sappy but your work makes me feel so much better and gives me hope for us all. Please take all the time you need to take care of yourself and those you love. All the best with hugs.

I don't know what you're going through, it sounds terrible. I don't want to draw a comparison when I don't know what the situation is but maybe I can offer some advice. Don't blame yourself for not having been able to plan for everything. Last year I quit my full time job because I wanted to finish the novel I was working on and I thought I'd saved up enough money to do so. A week later I was diagnosed with an incurable illness. Sometimes you can't do what you planned to do and it doesn't make you a bad person. I love you for the work you have done. Whatever happens nothing will take that away from you.
