The Mountain Trolls Lore

They are roughly the height of a man but of stronger build. They walk upright on two legs, though not with the same speed or dexterity as a man, and often supplement their movement with the use of their long, powerful arms. It is not uncommon for them to use tools such as sticks and stones for fighting, but in general intelligence, they seem lesser than other trolls.
They usually live in packs and are highly territorial, occupying caves, ruins, or any place that offers natural shelter. Though they eat whatever they can find, they often form raiding parties in search of meat—whether that means household animals from a village or the village itself.
For this reason, it is common to keep a fire burning throughout the night to scare them off, or to avoid certain passes at times of the year when they are known to be more active. Parents also tell tales of trolls to frighten children into behaving, as trolls are notorious for carrying off curious children who stray too far on their own.
Elves, on the other hand, view mountain trolls as prime prey for hunting. Some elves are even known to raise young trolls, keeping them as fierce pets and sometimes unleashing them on the battlefield.
