It was all in Age of Ultron, but Tony wanted to build "a suit of armor around the world" and have "peace in our time." @2:57: As much as I want to sympathize with Riri here, it's entitlement to think that your intelligence precludes you from doing the legwork. But that's actually a good thing for the show. Wanting to take shortcuts at every turn is a very understandable character flaw. @14:45: It still doesn't seem like enough, because it isn't. The tech in this universe would be bonkers expensive in real life. There's not enough money in the world to afford what Tony Stark built in a single movie. @14:58: Why would her brief life of crime matter? She just stole millions of dollars of tech from MIT. Like, her reputation is going to be ruined tomorrow when the news comes out. @17:40: Sadly, traumatic backstories are often what inspire our superheroes. Losing her best friend and her bonus dad in one day, the latter literally throwing himself in front of her during a drive-by? It's one squeeze too many on the ol' heart.

When you asked: "Can we have just one MCU character that doesn't have a tragic backstory"... Well... Technically we have Ms Marvel... She still have her whole immediate family. And had a pretty nice life before her show, writing super hero fan-fiction and video blogs. xD
