Of course the loroi isn't afraid since they are an artificially created warrior species. I guess combat moral rarely is a problem for them due to simply being designed to accept losses and their own imminent death without fear, designed in on s genetic level. Humans need to learn this.

Or he's subconsciously altering his speech as an automatic tic, that humans will often adopt when they're being deceptive with their language. He's not actually lying, he's manipulating his language to deflect the topic.
