...drinking from the teats of animals - how uncouth Humaniti is!
Mykola Stepchuk
If they think milk is gross, wait till they learn about cheese.

"Good tasting" in the specific realm of the Perrein palate, yes. Other Loroi might disagree. 😅 In addition to the somewhat unappealing basic nature of Perrein foods (fungus-like _dogos_ and cephalopod-like _sori_), Perrein organisms decompose quickly, and so much either be served fresh or preserved with aggressive mechanisms (such as extreme pickles), and in either case must be prepared in a way that deals with both the natural toxins in the organisms and the presence of hyper-effective Perrein microorganisms.

"Are all dogos good dogos?" "Good TASTING!!"
Perrin Rynning
Very nice, very succinct. And if the Loroi Stellar Cartographic Corps is worth their salaries, they'll probably be able to find Earth from that. Which is NOT what the Earh government wants, quite yet...

The most unique thing of our planet is that the moon and sun are teh same angular diameter in the sky. allowing for a total solar eclipse As the moon is slowly moving away the last total solar eclipse will be in 600 million years.
Ronald Homer
To be fair, prior to the invention of the Pasteurization process, questions about the sanitary nature of milk were entirely reasonable....
TSH
No, that would require lactation during the long period where loroi aren't pregnant. The reason they're shocked is that someone would consume milk as an adult at all, and probably that it's from a domestic animal, too.
Shane Wegner
How would I summarize our planet? "It's about 70 percent water, 30% land. We have a Koppen climate classification system that has about 25 different biomes on it, from really hot and sandy, to wet jungles with dense plant life, to cold and snowy. One moon. Year is 365 days long, axial tilt is 22 degrees so the variation in temperature can be about -50C to +50C. Three gas giants in our home system, a few of which have moons we might be able to terraform. Large biodiversity, millions of species, a couple dozen of which are suitable for domestication. We've had agriculture for about 10,000 years now."

So given the slight blush vs the "low Tide!" remark we may conclude lori regularly drink each others milk? (perhaps in slightly more intimate settings and when lactating) And this is not generally limited to infants?
Shane Wegner
Animal husbandry, having animals pooping everywhere in squalid mud cities, has no doubt been a major disease vector throughout our history. Feeding animals antibiotics has been a major contributor to antibiotic resistance. Cats giving humans toxoplasma...Seems like the Loroi intuitively grasp the grossness of having animals around. (But we still love them.)

Alex is from Redding. :D
Joshua Samuel Lapple
Oh ya, time to talk about Northern California. Well the hotter area, he really needs to spend more time out with us here in Humboldt to be honest.

A Taben expression. Unpleasant; gross.

>low tide?

they're probably all Intelligence for their respective fields/branches of service.

"I would be willing to feast upon any Perrein food you'd be willing to share with me." (or at least I would; i assume Alex would too)
Morgan Olson
He sure is a regular Cpt. Kirk, for sure. 😸 I'm looking forward to what Alex has to say about Earth and their reaction.

Love the bedroom eyes on Tempo.

Only talk about generalities, Alex. No more than a hundred miles from where you were born. If one of these ladies doesn't have Intelligence in her portfolio somewhere, I'd be surprised.
