Hardtroops are "full body replacement" cyborgs; it still has its brain, some of the internal organs and endocrine system, and blood in a closed loop to keep the wet systems running and transport nutrients to them. But vessels holding the organs don't have to be in their original locations within the body; rather, they are usually somewhere in the best-protected part of the trunk. In this case the decapitation severed access to a lot of its sensory capability, but it didn't hit anything that could bleed; this thing's brain isn't in it's head.

As usualy I'm enjoying the story :) Will the baddie's hard-suit run out hydraulic fluid (or spacey equivalent) before our hero's helmet looses all [Portable Liquid Oxygen Therapy armour]? Did our hero [oppsie] something critical with his [pie shooter]? Will our favourite Tozet bring some [dakka] to save the day? Just like modern drones are moving into having more autonomy I suspect destroying the living brain of a hardtrooper doesn't necessarily have to totally incapacitate it. Those things could probably be made to also function as robots to some extent even thou it is doubtfull that they actually do that in this comic.
