Not normally. For a low-consumption transit you'd maintain jump speed during transit, only expending fuel to correct your course for the next jump point. But if you're in a hurry, you'd accelerate during the transit and slow down for the next jump.

With regards to jumps and momentum, IIRC the system transit speed was supposed to be *slower* than that of a jump entry? The commandeered cruiser should therefore pull *ahead* of the fleet?

But of course the boarding operation would not go unnoticed. And unless they can fool those incoming ships, well if they somehow defeats them then there will be even more breaking of to deal with them.
