No, Californian. I try to avoid traditional theistic expletives "damn, hell, Christ" in what I imagine is a largely atheistic future. (I'm not especially hostile to religion or such phrases, but I think they date the writing.)

The Histor-AI-an isn’t factoring plausible deniability into its response anymore. I’m guessing it took a few seconds of shipwide CPU power to run a tactical analysis and concluded the likeliest outcome is even with its revealed help, they get converted to space plasma and no one finds out anyway. Alternately, maybe they survive and are so happy to NOT be space plasma that they don’t look too hard into it. Thirdly, maybe it knows it can cover its tracks and even delete itself so thoroughly that there will never, ever be any proof that it ever happened and they’ll sound insane if they try to explain it to command. Or maybe Command would just be like “yeah, we know these Historian agents can do pretty much whatever they want. No, we don’t particularly care.”
