Pre-Release update: FBNeo Runahead support!
🕑 Added 2020-06-26 10:40:49 +0000 UTCWe have pushed a new auto-update for those trying out the new Fightcade pre-release version. This update includes a lot of improvements in the NullDC integration (more to come) and adds "run ahead" support to our custom version of FBNeo.
Runahead is a feature that calculates frames in advance when you do an input, creating a predicted visual representation of the current game state, up to 2 frames, making the emulation as close as possible to real hardware in terms of input latency. This feature is quite CPU intensive and if your computer is not good enough you can get framerate slowdowns, which will impact also netplay. Runahead comes disabled by default and you can enable it in Video -> Runahead.
Enjoy the new update and leave your feedback in the comments!

after the auto update I get mission bios on my nullDC... I say yes to reference and it crashed :(

Yes. Also if your opponent has slow framerate it can affect network quality. We are working on some kind of solution for that, and a guide for optimal setups.

5.2ghz 8700k is enough

If you enable runahead and feel it's a bit muddy/choppy, it's possible that your cpu is not fast enough, and will work smoother without runahead. On good setups it's a very good feature, as per feedback received. Hope this helps!

I can’t figure out if this is better on or off. Need to test more. Anyone else?

oh yeah, this is the next level stuff! thanks :D

We tested different setups and a good i5 is capable of doing 2f on CPS3, for CPS2 there are lesser requirements. But it all depends on the single core power of your cpu

Wow. Good news ! I got an old I7 2600k, will it be ok for 2 frames of Run Ahead ?
