Populism is, in general very much aligned with Fascism. Socialism is not populism. So I disagree with Ben that the word populism is the problem. ... The fundamental definition of populism is that there is this word "the people" which should rule but this totally disregards the class divisions in "the people"

I agree with Briahna that voting for anyone but Joe Biden in the Democratic Primary is potentially very helpful and that there is little to lose by voting which doesn't involve donating or volunteering. Briahna also often makes great points in defense of protesters and is a wonderful advocate for effective protests. The reference she made in this video about the history of protests in France was interesting also. Regarding the Democratic Primary, I highly recommend signing this petition: "Uphold Democracy! A great episode!

Norton is a young genius on geopolitics and the global left. I just wish Gray would get off of the Democratic primary thing. Perhaps this is just her ignorance on vital topics and feels more comfortable on pop-American politics. I don't know. But the kind of grassroots, left populism they discussed comes from the very kind of education that Norton discusses and writes about daily. I wish this could have been more of that kind of exploration for Gray's soft-progressive listeners.
