Chris Brown actually hit a year before Neyo. Also, while Neyo is a quality artist and had plenty of hits, I’d say Chris Brown, T-Pain, and Akon actually ran R&B in the 2000s. Enjoyed the show though!

She worked with nas too right

Don't think you'll ever covered Chrisette Michelle on this channel before but she has tons of good music tho, she came across my mind because how much she worked with Neyo in the pass I say check out What you do or All I ever think About off her Epiphany Album which is a great album by her

I knew Drake was early doing the singing/rapping thing but cool to know someone predated him and that it was Ja Rule. (dad)
EazyBadmon
Great suggestion but it has to be the version with Left Eye ! Her verse was 🔥
EazyBadmon
Great review fellas! Ja Rule was the first male rapper to do the whole melodic singing/rapping thing that we see from rappers now of days such as Drake. Ashanti and Ja Rule had a huge run in the early 2000s dropping number ones back to back! One of my favorites from him is “Put it on me” remix ft lil Mo and Vita 🔥 PC 71: Xscape - Tonight

PC 71 Soul for Real - Everything I Do In know I made another suggestion, but it was heavily influenced by being at Disney still day. This was Heavy D's group. It's not their first single, but I like it better than Candy Rain "We so for real in the hood we make Candy Rain" - Jadakiss
Kim P
PC71 - Some Unholy War/Amy Winehouse

It’s possible you don’t hear ppl bring up Fab anymore bc some years ago he got caught on camera chasing his wife around while she screamed in fear and her father was chasing him yelling “I’m tired of you hitting my daughter!” I know I certainly don’t f with him anymore. So maybe that’s it. 🤷🏽♀️
TheKitt’sPajamas
In the beginning Tamia sings a sweet adlib “you know that I love you, yeah yeah”. She used it again later in a really beautiful song called Officially Missing You. She says “you know that I’m missing you, yeah yeah”. First time I heard it it caught me by surprise and made my soul smile. 🥰 Btw… Tamia’s original song So Into You actually came out in ‘98.

Re: I Need Love, hip hop is poetry and LL was writing to his future love on this song. Also, old school rap was more respectful and sweet towards women. He also had Hey Love and Around the Way Girl. After all, he is Ladies Love Cool James (LL Cool J) I actually got a chance to meet him back in the day when a friend and I snuck backstage at his concert. 😂

‘Bye Baby’ is about Nas’ separation from singer Kelis. You reacted to her song with Andre 3000 a few weeks ago. She filed for divorce over irreconcilable differences. It was a big deal at the time. The vocal is a sample from “Goodbye Love" by Guy (Aaron Hall was the main vocal) You reacted to ‘Guy’ during New Jack Swing PC.
The FrontRoom
Yea true haha, that was a whole thing how could I have forgotten XD

Billy Woods is amazing, thanks for bringing him up! I'd be happy to cover him next week, or even in a greater depth than in People's Choice. (Kai)

Damn.. I see (Kai)

Yes, love that track! (Kai)

Also if you want a really good commercially successful Fab song that showcases his technicality you should listen to Breathe
LB CaliMommy
For Nas' Bye Baby, the hook comes from "Goodbye Love" by Guy. You reviewed them on the New Jack Swing PC. Aaron Hall from that group is singing.
Simira
Nas and Kelis divorced bc they were toxic and not sober(allegedly). Kelis stated Nas was abusive and cheating.
Alex Moore
It’s funny that you mention 50 Cent when it comes to Ja Rule seeing as how they’re mortal enemies lol PC 71: Nelly - Country Grammar
Precious
‘Make Me Better’ was inspired by Jay Z & Beyoncé. Neyo wrote the chorus after watching them in the studio together. He wrote the song with the intention of Jay Z recording it but Jay Z passed because it was too R&Bish for him. Neyo played the demo for Fabolous later who loved it. Hopefully you still plan on reacting to a Neyo album, Kai 🤞🏾
Simira
Love LL and Nas. “I need love” was super popular. Next week theme suggestion: Trending TikTok songs
Jr Rick
Young Dro-Fresh
Ghost of Mark Ari
I'm new here, have you done anything by billy woods? I would recommend: - western education is forbidden – FaceTime - B More feat. Zesto (This song will be listed under his former group Super Chron Flight Bros) i’d also be interested in your takes on his new album GOLLIWOG. it’s very dark, both thematically and in terms of production. I’ve heard it described as an album that plays like a horror movie about our current society
90s Rap Tee
Nas' "Bye Baby" is about the ending of his relationship with/divorce from Kelis and the good times and bad times along the way. Such a vulnerable and dope song from arguably the GOAT rapper.
Bdawg
PC #70 - Japanese Breakfast - Boyish I think the last time you did an indie pop was Caroline Polachek. This is not upbeat but a very chill, beautiful song.
90s Rap Tee
Since dad says Ja Rule sounds like DMX, my suggestion for next week is Mic Geronimo "Time To Build" featuring Ja Rule, DMX and Jay Z, which was DMX's supposed first time on record and he's rapping like the lost member of ONYX. Ja Rule sounds more like DMX than DMX does on that record.
The FrontRoom
Sounds good - I trust you Erik! First comment 👌🏼

PC#71 B.A.P - Wake Me Up Y'all won't be disappointed
