PC 70: "Love at First Sight " Dana Dane (1987) OK, look, this is an embarrassing submission BUT this album (Cinderfella Dana Dane) was the first album I played so much I memorized as a kid. Also, I stand on the fact that Dana Dane was dope and lyrically he was so good to me at the time. At the same time, if someone said it was lame...I'd understand 😆. It just holds a special place in my heart. Dare I say Dana Dane kinda sparked my love of hip hop.

This song was in regular rotation in my teenage years, but unfortunately her album, Black Pearl, isn’t available on streaming platforms. 🥺 The songs can be found on YouTube though. ‘Luther’ is perfect use of a sample. I can listen to it over and over! Such a 🔥 song….’If This World Was Mine’ is one of my favorite songs. Kai, the voice at the end of the song was actually Cheryl Lynn not Luther pitched up. The song is a duet-Luther & Cheryl Lynn….It’s written by Marvin Gaye and originally performed by Marvin & Tammi Terrell.

PC 70 Charles Hamilton - Come Back To You This isn't your typical love song. It's more of a vent session. The emotion in his voice sounds so raw and genuine. Charles also produces and sampled The Isley Brothers for the song, but that's him playing at the end.
