FYI- Eric Sermon is part of the foundation of hip-hop, originally in the group called EPMD. One of there biggest hits "You gots to chill." Their debut album strictly business one of the biggest albums in the 80s. KRS-One is known as the Philosopher of hip-hop in 80's. I believe he's a college professor currently. He does have Jamaican roots.

PC84: Boyz-n-the hood (gotta do the remix!). The first storing telling song I could recite from memory . Such a great track to rap along to. Eazy is so much about vibe and ease of delivery . Eazy-duz-it . Classic beat with so many switches and drop outs. I revisited this song a lot last year with the Metro Like That beat which was a fantastic homage

I’d compare KRS-ONE with Busta Rhymes more so than Biggie. They’re all from NYC though for what it’s worth.

There’s another great song on that Krs-One album, that you should check out if u get to it some time, called “Higher Level” really a great song produced by DJ Premier And way way more relaxed than Sound of Da Police

Thanks for throwing in a little KRS-One (of Boogie Down Productions). He’s actually one of my favorite rappers. I absolutely love the songs: My Philosophy and Love’s Gonna Getcha Would love if you’d cover one of those songs on a future PC episode. Or Self-Destruction which features him and a bunch of other artists.

Great episode, love the variety. Eric Sermon was in the rap group EPMD, their song, You Gots to Chill was quite popular. It sampled Jungle Boogie by Kool and the Gang and More Bounce to the Ounce by Zapp and Roger.
