Idea for future culture reveal...how many hogs, kids, chickens, fish baskets can you pile on a scooter and still maintain control and have enough power to move. But I think you're right that it's more a Vietnamese thing. My kid taught English near Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City and the variety of ways to load a scooter was pretty impressive for two little tires.

Was starting to think the meat table scene was a new way to tenderize water buffalo. Stomp it on the table then stomp it on the pavement. Actually it reminded me of my first job at a meat processing plant. The floors were always questionable on a great day. If meat dropped on the filthy floor we'd look around to see if the USDA meat inspector was around. If not, brush it off and send it down the line to New York City..!! LOLOLOL
