As a Finn I have never seen anyone eat the strongest salmiakki nor eaten it myself, and its main purpose must be scaring foreigners! Traditionally salmiakki was sold in pharmacies as powder. I ate them as hard candy as a kid, but these days people prefer soft, sour salmiakki with extra sugar. One Finnish candy specialty would be tar flavored which I loved as a kid, it would be fun to see Serpentza and Cmilk react to it!
