Vitamin D deficiency. I started using a vitamin d lamp (sperti sunlamp) this winter and haven’t needed to use cold medicine once, when usually I’d be slamming back sudafed and NyQuil daily. I have a 2 and 5 year old. Vitamin D plays a role in how your body’s inflammation response reacts to viruses, low vitamin D and you’ll exhibit symptoms way worse. It’s why cold/flu seasons is during the cold months when everyone is in doors and wearing extra clothes, low vitamin D, exaggerated symptoms, virus spreads easier from the extra sneezing and coughing.
