Dear Lyonne, Well, I'm sucked in, though maybe that would be a better phrase for a vampire story. Perhaps I ought to write that this tale has sunk its teeth in me with just these few teaser pages. What kind of a priest is our protagonist? Catholic? Episcopalian? Is a priest still a priest when he's a werewolf? When I was growing up, my mother had a poster (in fact, it still is in what was her office) that reads "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, "I fear no evil, "For I am the meanest son of a bitch in the valley." When I was fourteen I read Tanakh through and that was when I found out that my mother's poster was not the original version. Have I ever sent you the astonishing poem "Beasts" by Richard Wilbur? I'll be reading to see if this werewolf is akin to Wilbur's.
