MRF! (Massive Roman fort!)

I discovered Time Team a little less than a year ago on YouTube. It rekindled my interest in archeology and history as well as helping me make it through a very tough year. As far as questions are concerned, If you reach your goals how many episodes of the New Time Team can we expect ?

I am so pleased Time Team is returning and am personally very interested in Roman sites. I am looking forward to all episodes though as whatever period it will be great .

I totally agree. I'm writing a novel set in the early iron age, so I'd love to see that period, but yes, the Romans or something else popular, like Tudor or Saxon, might be best to start with.

I’m a huge fan of Iron Age sites and I will vote for them first ...but as the first episode—and it does pain me; i would suggest Saxon or Roman because its more appealing to the masses to get interest in the campaign to secure funding for more episodes going forward.

Please do the Viking fort at Tempsford in Beds, it has never been dug and the probably location outlined in the research paper is really intriguing .

Great stuff, Tim, and many thanks for the update. As a military historian, the D Day camp site sounds intriguing. One of the most interesting that I have looked at - purely above ground - is HMS Quebec at Inveraray on Loch Fyne. It was there that the Allies developed the amphibious techniques that saw them ashore in North Africa, Sicily and Normandy, and trained many thousands of sailors, soldiers and airmen involved in these landings. A very important site...and a rather nice place to visit!

Thank you for the update, and what great news! The iron age campsite with a tunnel sounds really exciting. I'm crossing my fingers there will be a few more prehistoric sites proposals in the upcoming list :)
