This is a complete aside but, I just watched Time Team S08-E03 Llygadwy, Wales. I learned so much about context and stratification from the examination of a fraud. Great episode

As an ex Royal Marine I of course did much of my training on Dartmoor and Bodmin so know them both in all their moods. Often we were ‘lying low’ in places that were clearly very ancient sites. I can tell you that some definitely had an feeling about them that I cannot explain. To watch that dig on Bodmin brought it all back to me!

A week before the dig was put on the channel, I visited the site with my mate; went to the 'bank cairn' - still not really marked on the OS aside from an arbitrary line - and the house sites. It was a beautiful day, fresh and sunny. I've visited such sites on Dartmoor so it's not new, but sharing that sense of wonder with a pal about the idea of doing what Tony did - walk thru the door of a hut... feel the sense of weird connection I last got at Carn Euny (and I'm normally Mr Scientific) - lovely. Looked out over the stone circle the other side of the tor and the ancient field systems. Superb and beautiful site - just don't underestimate your distances ;-)

Follow the data. You never know where it will take you, but it is the path to the real story.
