Connie, we've done a bit of research at Op N and I think this might be a spur rowel from a vintage set of children's cowboy/play spurs. Will confirm when I know more.

Just google 'sheriff's badge 8 point' and you will find an 8 pointdeputy sherrif's badge - example Grand Island Nebraska USA

I did check a couple of websites for vintage toy law enforcement badges but saw nothing with eight point stars. Authentic vintage badges revealed nothing with more than seven points either.

The coin with the Queens head: I think she is wearing a crown, so not a farthing.

Cartridge cases: Upper Left: A .50 calibre American round. According to wiki it had a Rim diameter of .804 in (20.4 mm) the same as a 1p.

Great to see Sir Tony on the screen, I've been catching up with the latest films and have to say the technology in use today is mind blowing, Surely the team must get their sonic screwdrivers soon, Trowels are so last century! :-)

Looking at the coins the one in the middle looks to have flats on the edges. which with the portcullis would make it a pre decimal three penny bit. The one with the young queens head on it is either a half penny or possibly a farthing ( quarter penny)

In Feb 1971, we completely changed our coinage system from L.S.D. of 12 pennies (D) to a Shilling (S) and 20 Shillings to a Pound (L), so 240 pence to the pound, to the decimal system of 100 pence to the pound, the same as your cents/dollar. Just like your dimes and quarters, our pre-decimal multiple-amounts coins also had nicknames - tanner (1s), florin (2s), half-crown (2s6d) etc.
