Special update from Time Team!
🕑 Added 2023-07-27 21:42:23 +0000 UTCHello from TT HQ,
We're preparing to make some exciting announcements and wanted you to be the first to know...
New Goals
With your incredible support across the globe we brought Time Team back - and now we're preparing to take it to the next level! We have ambitious plans over the next few years and beyond to investigate more sites and produce more episodes.
So, we have set ourselves a new goal of 10,000 ongoing Patreon members. This will help to secure the future of Time Team and allow us to plan further ahead in developing new sites.
New Site Contenders
Speaking of which, we have so many fantastic sites being researched for potential future digs. Just some of the contenders include: prehistoric standing stones, D-Day battlefields in Europe, Saxon princely burials, Scandinavian rock art and a rumoured huge Roman palace. We'll be sharing more details soon and, of course, asking you for your feedback.
We can only investigate sites like these with your support, and the more Patreon subscribers we get, the more we can do. So please, stay with us and help spread the word!
New Programming Schedule
To complement the main dig episodes, we are introducing a new regular programming schedule on YouTube, combining new features with classic episodes from the archives. On the 2nd Saturday of every month, we'll release a Classic Time Team Special starring Tony Robinson, covering big themes from Stonehenge to Shakespeare. That's one every month for the next 12 months!
Then on the last Saturday of the month, we're introducing our Time Team News show, featuring a selection of our favourite recent discoveries from around the world. We'll also be dropping in on various team members to see what they're getting up to throughout the year. Look out for the first News instalment this weekend!
New Patreon Content
We'll also be sharing a further 10 Classic Time Team Specials for all our Patreon members, signed up at Digger tier and above, for an initial duration. Look out for one Classic Special every month on Patreon, starting in August.
Look out for more details on all of the above this weekend, including our current special offer on annual membership.
Thanks again for all your support and for helping us to investigate more sites!

United States. I live in Eastern Kansas, Leavenworth is known as the "1st City in Kansas". We have a fort here by the same name, and several Native American groups have lived here. Nearby, in Kansas City, Kansas, there is an historical site called the Grinter House. It is left from a plantation established to support the first ferry crossing across the Kansas River, used by the military & early settlers. I am interested in what you could find out about the site using modern tech & methods.

Glad to see the team together once more, and making the show all about archeology again! Lets dig in!
Charles Calkins
New USA member, too, but saw a number of seasons first run and appreciate greatly that you are back! Also echoing Matt - if you ever want a field trip, much archaeology here in Missouri and Illinois such as Cahokia Mounds, the largest Native American settlement north of Mexico, though the Osage and other tribes were everywhere around here.
Matt Fiscus
I'm a new member from Minnesota, USA, and was wondering if you folks would be interested in jumping the pond again? There is a state park that claims to be the site of a fur trader from back when the French owned the land that is now Minnesota. As far as I've been able to find out not much is realy known about the site other than the fact that it was a trade center.

Have you got any pictures of the 2023 Flag, so we diggers can spy the names? Keep digging ....

I'm the same height as Naomi, so I can relate... 😂 we're not short, we just have a better view of the ground, right Naomi?
Alan Murdock
I've been a patreon subscriber since the first year ( I think ). I don't plan on going anywhere. Get to digging.

This is all very exciting. I know everything put out will be interesting and fun. I got started here not just because I'm a superfan but because I stumbled across a TT Tea Time almost 3 years ago. I was so happy to see any content from TT. I watch the old episodes every nite as my last thing! New content is so wonderful. Any chance of bringing back Tea Time with episode releases? Looking forward to what's coming. Thanks for your hard work.
Tim Shone
Great news. Looking forward ( or backwards ) to it all

I’m going to an archaeological conference this weekend, over here in the MidSouth of the USA. I’ll be proudly wearing my Time Team pin! So excited about all the new plans!

Terrific group photo! I became interested in archaeology in my early 20s when some friends and I started looking into the histories of the settler families who had farmed the land on which our Canadian university sat. Some of their buildings had been preserved and moved to Black Creek Pioneer Village, but others remained in situ as charred ruins of cellars marked only by the sumac that had grown up on their edges. We marveled at the size of the beams that once propped up the floors, since none of the living trees in the area could have produced such huge timbers. Fascinating stuff.

I’ve actually tracked down and watched all but a few of the regular episodes (that was my pandemic project, too!), but as far as I can tell, the specials were not included. Did you find a source for the special episodes?
Ian Thomson

We'll be revealing this year's flag very soon. Watch this space...

Amazing news! I can't wait. It reminds me of the original Time Team club in the 1990s when we had a quarterly magazine about digs, people and general archaeology news.
David Boon
Wonderful news. Looking forward to the future updates.

Yay!! The more Time Team the better ❤️. I have the gold window cling on my car and people ask what it is and I always say it’s my favorite thing ever before explaining what Time Team is 😊
Patricia Amero
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be saying "I'm a member of Time Team" 🤯 I'm so impressed with the entire setup that I increased my membership to the next level. In it for the long haul... I tell everyone it's a gift to myself that keeps on giving, all year long! 💞
Ryan Cole
I will encourage everyone I know to become a patron. 👍🏻

Is there anything known about the new flag?
Dennis Wert
I’ve found a couple that were oddly titled on YouTube, but it’s been awhile since I’ve looked.
Shane Roelofs
Awesome! I'll check them out.
Leah Kotok
Ooh! TT News! What a great idea! And I can't wait to see the classic specials. They haven't been available in the US (at least not that I can find).
Kathy Faltinson
Oh awesome!
Dinah from Kabalor
I love the Gus/Naomi with Tim for scale combo in the team picture. 😁
Time Team
Hi Shane, we have done some commentaries on Classic episodes, including some updates since the digs. Check them out here: https://www.youtube.com/@TimeTeamOfficial/playlists?view=50&sort=dd&shelf_id=9
Justin Freeman
Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.
Shane Roelofs
Would be good if you could do some follow ups on the classic digs. You could talk about what happened to the site since the TT dig, did assumptions play out (and if not why not), and work planned for the future.
Adam Prickett
Exciting times ahead. The future digs sound incredibly exciting!
Lorna Dryden
My favorite group of people!!!
