I actually won this contest last year, and I live in the USA. I agree that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I made the trip across the pond. Worth every penny. I realize, however, that it might not be an option for everyone. But if you can afford a trip abroad, I'd say it's at least worth entering.

Hi Harry, we have several possible locations on mainland Britain in development for future digs, and so the winners will need to be able to make their own travel and accommodation/hospitality arrangements to one of these sites. Once the exact location(s) and date(s) are confirmed, we'll inform the winners, and if they are unable to attend, the prize will be offered to another entrant. There's nothing to prevent you from entering the opportunity now then making that call later should you be lucky to win, so please do go ahead if you wish. Good luck!

I have a problem here. Without knowing WHERE the dig is, I cannot enter. I don't need an exact location, just a county will do, so I can tell do I have the resources to get to that location and therefore enter this competiion.
