Sutton Hoo | Livestream: Monday 24th June 2024, 4pm (BST)
🕑 Added 2024-06-24 13:37:58 +0000 UTCLivestreams Return
As we enter the final week of our 2024 dig, we're back with more livestreams transmitted direct from the site. As before, these Patreon-exclusive streams are an opportunity to share a snapshot of the action in real time as it unfolds (in addition to the main coverage).
We'd like to extend a big thanks to Mark in the Comms team for making this possible!
PLEASE NOTE:
Exact timings for all livestreams may vary slightly from the schedule. Please keep a look out for updates.
Some livestreams will be transmitted with audio commentary, while some may have vision only and no audio. THIS STREAM WILL HAVE NO COMMENTARY!
If you can't make it live, don't worry – a replay will be available to watch at your leisure afterwards.
360-vision
This will be a 360-degree livestream, allowing you to rotate and explore the footage from every angle.
Open the video livestream to watch in YouTube, by clicking on the title link at the top of the video.
While watching the video on a computer click and drag using the mouse or tracker pad: up, down, left and right to get a full 360-degree view in real time! You can also zoom in or out.
Depending on your connection speed, you may need to adjust the video quality by clicking on the cog icon at the bottom of the YouTube window.
If using a phone or other mobile device, it should work by simply rotating the screen.

You're a star, Mark. While this may not be everyone's cuppa, I love it! Not every moment of every day is 'lights, camera, action!!' so it truly represents how long and arduous the process of ground truthing is. If I was there right now, this is what I'd see. How fab is THAT? 👍😊

Certainly was a beautiful day!

What strikes me about the live streams, being a lay person, is the amount of time it takes to achieve results. I am really looking forward to some information about the finds.
Carl Johnson
I'd love to know if there is something significant about that area in the middle. It seems to have fewer if any rocks. I guess that is always your question... is it geology or a feature... Looking forward to the next stream, hopefully next time I won't be so caught up in Final Fantasy Online that I miss the notification.
Mark Lund
Yeah, without any commentary, I'm not sure I really get the point other than showcasing the great 360 technology. Not knocking it, I couldnt knock anything on T T, just not for me.

I have this streaming on my TV as I do chores around the house. I am really enjoying coming into the room and seeing what people are doing each time, almost as if I'm looking out my window at the site as I go about my day. Wish I could be there!

We're looking into livestreams of paint drying at future digs when resources allow. Please watch this space.

These live streams are not really informative, nore exciting. You don't need to do this. It is like watching paint dry.
Bob Pockney
Thanks for another livestream. Getting hot there I think !

Amazing...

The 360 live feeds are so enjoyable. The media being produced this year has been impeccable!
