Announcement: New Dig in July with Operation Nightingale
🕑 Added 2024-07-07 09:20:02 +0000 UTCThe dust is still settling on our epic 'Sutton June' – and there's lots more coverage still to come as the post-ex work gets underway. But right now, the action continues as we gear up to get back out in the field for another dig!
This July, we're thrilled to be joining forces again with our good friends at Operation Nightingale and Cotswold Archaeology. Over the next week, we'll be investigating a 7th century site in the Cotswolds, which has exciting geophysics and produced a princely burial.
We'll be bringing you daily Dig Watch diaries live from the field, as it happens, with the results culminating in an episode to be aired at a later date (TBA).
Thank you for your continued support, and please look out for further details right here on Patreon.
PLEASE NOTE
Due to the nature of this dig and being on private land, unfortunately the site will not be open to public or visitors. However, please do join us for all the coverage here on Patreon.

I just bumped my membership to "Site Director". I'm not an archaeologist, but as a scholar from a different, but tangentially related, discipline, I want to do my part to support Time Team's work. I especially want to support them, because they are doing good work, and having fun!

I'm so excited to hear this! I love when Time Team works at a site where the different cultures and times overlap. So looking forward to the final Sutton Hoo full feature next year, and I hope that this one proves just as wonderful!

I am so excited!

I bought the book too, and it's wonderful, isn't it. So glad your son made it home.

I won't be there, I can guarantee it. But I'll be celebrating the fact that we can see it in much more detail on YouTube. I'll look forward to seeing some of the finest observations of detail that science can provide! Yay, TIME TEAM! -Kathryn Schauf

Lots of great things coming up. BTW, I bought the wonderful "Broken Pots, Mending Lives" (My son fought in Iraq with the American Army in 2004. He made it home). I can only read that book for a short time before I'm overcome with sorrow for anyone that lost anything or any person in that war.

Yay !

For those unfamiliar with the Cotswolds (from Wikipedia): "The Cotswolds (/ˈkɒtswoʊldz, ˈkɒtswəldz/ KOTS-wohldz, KOTS-wəldz) is a region of central South West England, along a range of rolling hills that rise from the meadows of the upper River Thames to an escarpment above the Severn Valley and the Vale of Evesham."
James Lee-Pevenhull
I don't live far from the Cotswolds. In fact, I can ride my bike there. If only the site was identified .....
