Exciting plans ahead, thanks to your support!
🕑 Added 2024-08-16 15:26:02 +0000 UTCIt's just over one year on from announcing our last goals and target of 10,000 active members, which – thanks to you – we achieved in just 9 months!
It's been a phenomenal year, that has seen Time Team expand in many exciting ways, culminating in June's epic month-long dig at Sutton Hoo.
But never ones to rest on our laurels, we're already onto the next leg of the journey. Although it's only possible with you by our side...
So, we are about to announce our new goal of 15,000 active members by the end of 2025.
It's pretty ambitious, but we don't shy away from a challenge!
What's more, this will help us significantly, to continue developing more sites and bringing you closer than ever before to the action as it happens.

Here are just some of the confirmed developments in the pipelines:
Brand New 3-Day Dig at Norton Disney: In October, we're visiting Lincolnshire to investigate the ancestral home of the Disney family following the Norman Conquest, as visited by Walt Disney himself, in 1949.
New Time Team Podcast: We're launching a brand new podcast, hosted by Dr Helen Geake, and award-winning podcaster, Martyn Williams. Listen to Time Team on go, and brush up on your archaeology knowledge.
Series 19 on Time Team Classics: By popular demand, we're releasing more classic episodes from the archives, with episodes released monthly, worldwide, for free on YouTube
Plus upcoming new releases:
Digging Band of Brothers 2024: Time Team returns to Aldbourne
Operation Cobra, Normandy: The offensive following the D-Day landings
Saluting the Masters of the Air: Investigating a B17 Flying Fortress
Cerne Abbey: The Search for the Lost Abbey continues
Ancient Greek City: The Expedition Crew's big dig with unexpected results
Our ambitious 2025 aspirations, with your ongoing support, include:
Time Team's Roman Trinity: We aim to take on 3 major Roman sites, perhaps returning to some of our Greatest Hits to see what we can do with the latest tech.
Time Team Con: A virtual convention for all Patreon members, with some live tickets.
Virtual Museum and TT Metaverse: Expanding our reach into the virtual world, with a working demo for Patreon members within the next 12 months.
More Classic Specials and Episodes: Additional episodes released from the vaults.
And there are many more other develops we looking forward to updating you on in due course.
So, thank you again for making Time Team's success possible.
Please do continue to spread the word that Time Team is back, and please do share, like and comment on all our public posts. It makes such a big difference.
It is going to be an extremely exciting 12 months ahead!

What happens to finds after digs? Would it be possible, over time, for Time Team to get premises for its own museum - perhaps, a corner of existing town museums?
Catherine Makin
Very exciting stuff. Especially excited by Time Team Con, that would be fabulous.

I love Time Team I watch the videos over and over and over. I am very excited whenever you release a new "old " one. LOL . It is so much better than most of the other offerings out there.

Digger tier is the lowest paying tier level currently available for newly joining members. However, for a limited time, we previously introduced a 'Give us a Coffee' tier, offering fans a chance to contribute without accessing specific benefits, so we still have some members on this tier. Patreon also recently introduced free memberships, which again allows members to sign up to register interest in Time Team without accessing specific benefits of paid tiers. So 'Digger tier and above' makes that distinction. Thanks
Dr Richard Mellish
I'm not sure where it's possible to post a question about membership, so I hope it's OK to do so here. Some benefits are offered to "Patreon members (Digger tier and above)". I think "Digger" is what I am. Is there a lower tier than "Digger"? If not, why not just refer to (all) Patreon members?

I'm looking forward to new Time Team digs! I hope that we see more of Gus Casely-Hayford as narrator.

I found some interesting articles concerning the Disney family. I am very skeptical àbout the family tree I found online though. The surname is believed to have originated from the Norman French surname D'Isigny from the town Isigny- sur-Mer in Normandy. I need to clarify - I am not referring to Walt Disney's family tree. I am referring to the Disney (D'Isigny) line going back to the Norman's. 😊 As a professional genealogist I understand the importance of backing up research. I'm looking forward to the Norton Disney dig and more ancestry content. Sophie Kay is a great addition to the team.

All very exciting!

I would love it if when Helen is working on the podcast, there could be an episode on how Suffolk and Norfolk changed in the 10th century. I know that there were significant agricultural changes starting in the 9th century, but I'm really interested in the idea that people moved from one part of town to the another (even if it wasn't the same people), and why so many churches were built, and who built them, and how they were paid for, and if this has something to do with why people moved from one part of town to another.

This is awesome

All very good

Great idea!

I’d love to see more reissued classics from earlier seasons. Some of my favorite episodes (Orkney from Season 5; Plympton St Maurice from Season 6; Waddon from Season 7; and many others) are still missing from the TT Classics library.

Are volunteers needed at the Norton Disney dig?

Turkdean III! Or perhaps the villa at Southwell, where I was at school in the 70s.
Kerry Hennigan
I can't wait for any and all of this! The idea of revisiting old sites/discoveries and subjecting them to new tech examination is a fantastic idea.
Michael Sperry
The Time Team News bit where Dani is surprised by the falling wall decoration gave me an idea. Another stretch goal: TimeTeam Bloopers! You guys MUST have reels of flubbed lines, goofy hijinks, and on-site (non-injurious) accidents. So for every 500 new Patreon members, you release another Blooper Reel! What say you?
Patricia Amero
me too!

Simple words can't express how proud I am to be here. I'm in it for the long haul, anticipating the rays of sunshine on the Time Team horizon. Helen Geake + Martyn Williams PODCAST 😲 YES!! Bring it on! 🙌
Patricia Amero
Rather than do a breakdown of all this wonder-filled news... I'll say WOOHOO 🥳 thank you, thank you, thank you!! Um, yeah... that should cover it. Cheers to making a difference, everyone ☕

Oh my gods! This is amazing. Can’t even speak! Am I the only one who had a quiet tear? (Sook, I know, but I’m unemployed at the moment and a bit emoshe!) Can we please have more Dani and Naomi chats? I love them!!
Justin Freeman
Very excited about the upcoming Norton Disney dig and the Roman plans for next year. TGFTT!

This is wonderful! And at the risk of sounding like a generalist, I love it all! But I am extra excited about the Helen Geake podcast and the convention. Just awesome. Cannot wait for the coming year!

Wow! Time Team Con! Cosplay? 😀 And nice to see some of us SH Volunteers again. 😀

This all sounds amazing! Really looking forward to the virtual con and all of the other digs and specials. I'm proud to be one of the original Patrons.

Yes, could be a significant loss of income.

So what effect will Apple taking a 30% cut of subscriptions through the iOS app have on Time Team going forward?
Wessex-Wyvern
That all sounds really great! I'm looking forward especially to the podcast.

This all looks amazing! Can't wait!
