My question would be based on Stewart and his maps. What do the team think about the fact that life is increasingly digital? Do they think that maybe hundreds of years in the future our documents and maps will be like a new Dark Ages? They won’t be on paper, the way they were accessed may no longer be possible. Will there be a big Information Age gap in the records?

Also, thank you so much for all you do. Time Team has been a love of mine for years, and now my eldest daughter (age 12) is hooked. She’s done a presentation on Time Team for school and tells anyone who might listen all about you. She gets her little siblings excited to dig test pits in our fields at least once a week. I love hearing her quote all of you (in the proper accents) as “finds” appear. Her knowledge of the historical timeline is excellent (if centered on the wrong continent) thanks to you. I’m the official osteologist and we learn so much figuring out which creature left us their skeletal bits and sometimes even what happened to them. What an amazing way to learn and grow as a family. And it’s music to my ears when she asks, “Mom, can we listen to the new podcast together tonight?” As a parent I must say that my Patreon subscription more than pays for itself—the frequent additions keep my kids excited and learning, plus it provides invaluable time when my tween daughter *wants* to hang out with Mom!

How is the process of archeology different in different places? For example, it seems in England every shovelful of dirt has finds, to the point you use diggers, whereas when TT went to the United States Phil despaired at having to dig only with trowels because there is so little to find. Are such discrepancies common? What are other differences, if any, around the world?

Another great episode, just wish the discussion on Must Farm could have been longer! Current Archaeology did an article on this, and my mother and I had the article open while we listened. I don't suppose Time Team could do one of their specials on Must Farm?

I would love to hear more about the conservation that goes on after the dig - how various items are 'restored', the different conservation experts and how long these processes take. This would make an interesting Time Team special, I think.

Excellent podcast. I listen whenever I can. I would love a Time Team or archaeology story time audio format! Helen would be marvelous as a narrator, I'm sure. I've had a habit of writing stories for my kids when they were young, and now my grandchild. One of the segments was when a ragtag group of animals that survived a forest catastrophe happen upon a small cherrywood box buried in a field. I let the animals speak (a bit British accenting, just because I love hearing all the different voicings from the various areas in Britain - I'm from the U.S) as they discover what hides in the box. :)

Not being from the UK I found time team episodes during the pandemic. My question to Helen is can you talk about some of your experiences when you were a just a digger? before you became one of the show experts. One of my early favorite moments of you in an episode has to be when Tony playfully called you queenie when after telling him yellow isn’t your color when you were digging at wick Hammond. Thank you for bringing all this wonderful history into my home in America.
