Please put all your dirty clothes in this plastic bag

Marianne Richards MSc.

I said drilling for oil was a bad way of fundraising Time Team.

Eggs Ackley

All these weary, dirty dudes when you could have shown beautiful (even when muddy) Katie Hirst…sad.

Peter H

It's mud i tell you.. we've found pure mud!

Matthew Oliver

The two heads we found in the ground when dug up were perfectly preserved Adult men (standing far left and far right).

Chris R

Well, we did find this stick......

Robert Ernest Arthur Harvey

We got a long way down Stuart's pocket but we still haven't found his wallet. We are beginning to think it is mythical.

Mika

The good news: the find at the bottom does provide solid dating evidence. The bad news: this was not, after all, a medieval garderobe - what we found was, in fact, a corroded SIM card from 1997. Actually, our archivist Robin has found a document linking this site to a medieval re-enactment festival...

Loz

It took a while for the Village People to find their eventual iconic style. Here’s an early version.

Johanna Jauhiainen

Real men won’t mind a bit of patina!

Mesidast

Cheers for unblocking those porta potty's for us lads! Been bursting waiting to go

Susan Gordon

All this and only one specimen.

Aidan Lees

Mine all mine

Darylyn Phraner

I thought we were all bringing specimens 😏

Basil Stephens

Where did John say the pub was?

John Lewton

guess who stayed topside to "co-ordinate".

Gabe Kraljevic

Sorry mates, I used up the hot water. Who's next?

Connie L Merchant

Digging deep for Tim and Time Team.

JUDITH COOKE

Mud, glorious muck.

John Kotick

Why do the managers always stay clean?

Lynn Edwards

Living in the Past (Today is DECEMBER 4th, folks!)

Veronica Wright Roni

And they said that we wouldn’t find it

Steve Gunning

Sod this mud, I’m off to do some dendro in America!

Bob Brevitt

Sorry lads! The slurry wagon's just offloaded down there.

Wendy Lambert

Smile everyone, look as if we are having fun

Kate Crawford

Time Team: Braving The Depths To Reach New Heights!

Alan W McMillan

The boys take over Naomi's floatation tank while John distracts her with another improvised "Identify the Bone while Blindfolded" game.

Scott R. McKinley

Wait? We can start from the top?

John Anderson

So anyway, we were trying to load the sick cow into the truck….

Alan W McMillan

Rule #1: The boss always gets the spoils.

Richard Seaton

That was great fun... now where do we have to go to start this excavation?

Andy Gabriel-Powell

(Reading minds from left to right) 'I'm grinning but I'm not liking it' / 'There's going to be a huge stink over the cost of this' / 'One artefact, just one...' / 'Three days of crawling through mud and muck, for this...'

David J Neivandt

And just like that Mick the Dig became Mick the Twig.......

Amanda Taub

Two people are way too clean to be in this photo.

Mary-Helen Armour

Mic the Dig ‘ I think I am going to have to shave by beard off to get rid of all this mud’.

Tim Walker

We did it! We managed to find that ring that got dropped down the loo!

Alan McMillan

Good lineup!

Michael Sperry

After three days of deep excavation, that baggie holds the single 1 cm wide piece of dating evidence. They came in thinking it was Iron Age, turns out it was late Medieval.

Roy Phillips

Speluncam Dido dux et Troianus eandem.

Garry Matthews

How muddy did say it was going to be?

Michael Wescott

Before Time Team could truly begin they had to retrieve Phil from his flint knapping deep in the caves within.

Pauline R

"Totally worth the effort."

Stephanie Stewart

All this for a cheese sandwich in cheddar gorge?

Kevin

Off to the Miners Arms for a pint.
