We're delighted to announce an exciting collaboration with the Faculty of Media & Communication at Bournemouth University, to produce a special programme looking ahead at our plans for 2025.
Please join us for the premiere and live chat of the show (which includes this month's Time Team News) this Friday 31st January at 7pm (GMT) on the Time Team Official YouTube channel.
UPDATE: Get ready to watch HERE: https://youtu.be/KV54I_f9DbE
Time Team's connections to Bournemouth go way back, with many appearances from Miles Russell over the years. Since our relaunch, we've welcomed Derek Pitman, Meg Russell and Harry Manley among the many BU archaeologists working with us on a range of projects.
We're excited to now extend the collab to include the next generation of budding filmmakers! Here's our behind-the-scenes video diary of the shoot, providing an exclusive sneak preview of what to expect.

As a college professor, I absolutely love that you included and embraced a university production team. And that lovely Mick Aston stuffy!
Dario
Really enjoyed this. Sounds like lots of great stuff coming for 2025. Well done to the Bournemouth students for doing such a professional job on filming and production. It looked really good.
Mark Staniforth
Good year ahead!
Paul Roden
Great, can only make it even better
Bron Lloyd
It was really great! With so much horrible stuff going on in the world at the moment, it’s comforting to know that our wonderful Time Team is still there for us all.
Alan Murdock
I think it's a great idea. Experience and practice for the students, and more broadcasts for the subscribers.

What a great idea and beneficial to both parties. Hope we see more productions from Bournemouth!
Christina Hooke
YES-many of us can't be on X for ethical reasons, please let us know where else we can find you. Bluesky is great!
Christina Hooke
Please tell us when there will be news about the new Sutton Hoo dig! So excited and hoping to join the lottery to volunteer!
Gay Ludington
Hey, Mick was there, sitting on the couch! Wasn't saying much, though! ;-D

The milling around "chaos" of a TV production is SOOOO familiar, and sometimes mystifying to outsiders who often wonder: do they really know what they're doing?? Yep, they sure do! I worked in TV production for years and every one of those aimless-looking folks knows what to do and exactly when to do it -- most fun is watching the action in the control room. Makes me homesick!
Mary Lu Perham
Such a great idea! It’s fascinating to see the behind the scenes work involved in AV production.
Patricia Amero
Exciting news and a big hello from Canada to everyone at Bournemouth University.
Rick Doner
As many local students as you have had help out at digs over the years it is fantastic seeing students on the media side involved! Gives them great experience and exposes their work to a worldwide audience.
Brett
The 3 Day Digs will always be around, but there are so many new ways to tell stories and Time Team has evolved with the times...
Brett
Always good to see Emily pop into the frame...
Brett
The next generation of Time Team production in the making, what a wonderful idea this is!! Mick would be so proud of everyone involved in the adventure of Time Team coming back & growing again as a family! Cannot wait for this years discouveries...
Moyce
Really nice to see you working with the students but I'd be really sad to see the rustic barn look go. Cosy sofa chat feels like it's losing the time team family, ad lib feeling and going a bit samey mainstream
Darylyn Phraner
I second this so that time team can get away from x

Great stuff! Could we get a mirrored BluSky feed from @timeteam.bsky.social for us X refugees please.... ?
Cynthia Whissell
You go guys!
Thomas Murray
Great next step. Congratulations from Kentucky!
Sarah Holloway
Brilliant !
Martin Young
Goosebumps, haha- very much looking forward to this: a great start to 2025!
Melanie Pietruska
Oh, Emily on camera. And such exciting news not only for us but also for the students. Can't wait for the video!
Mary Murphy
What a wonderful experience for all sides! Time Team gets to be in a real studio, and another generation gets to learn about archeology.
Mike and Pam G.
WOW! I contribute a relatively tiny amount of money to the projects, but I'm very proud of our collective accomplishments. Good job to the students and I wish much success in your chosen careers!
Alan McMillan
Good to hear everybody doing well. And good to see events abroad!
Eelco Kruidenier
Good move Time Team, good for the team and for the students
Nan Sampson Bach
Fantastic opportunity to collab and give everyone even more insight into this incredible work. I see even Mick was represented there, which got me a bit choked up. Thank you all!
Jacques Pictet
Sounds good ! Going beyond the 3-day dig of the TV format seems logical, with openings on other projects. The risk is to loose sight of what makes Time Team special. I am not sure what it is, but my guess it has to do with the word Team.
David Alan Jones
Could do with applying some deshake software to the handheld shots.
Julianne Ture
Will the podcasts be recorded here, too? Either way, it’s brilliant! (And the Mick doll on the sofa makes me happy. I’m sure he’s smiling on you all.)
Nigel Sadler
That was a really sweet behind the scenes video. The excitement and enthusiasm of all involved really came across. I'm so chuffed to have played a small part in it!
Wessex-Wyvern
Seems like everyone had a thrilling time. Can't wait to see the finished video!
Bob Pockney
Really looking forward to this.
Marianne Richards MSc.
Love this collaboration. I'd love a Degree in Archaeology as I had no opportunity/money when younger. Age 71, perhaps I'm not the only patreon who would appreciate Time Team specials - a bit more formal than re-hashed interviews with original TT staff - a sort of course in archaeology for armchair amateur enthusiasts. Gosh, I'd even 'pay per view' - a nominal sum affordable to all, which would bring another income stream to TT.
JUDITH COOKE
What a great collaboration. I thoroughly enjoyed the enthusiasm and good vibes. Hope it can be developed further.
Jason Mann
Cannot wait to see the final edit!
Victoria Fairley
this is amazing well done everyone! brought a little tear to my eye.
Zoe Propper
Brilliant! Looking forward to this, and great to see the uni dept and students involvement. Was half expecting Derek to trip when he was walking behind in one of the pieces. Know I would 😁
Frank Pellow
Wow!
Time Team
Thanks Debbie, we certainly do!
Debbie Gerlock
Um, I think you mean “include” and not “exclude” in the last paragraph.
