My statement regarding MSG
🕑 Added 2022-09-02 07:26:53 +0000 UTCI have decided to take down the "Mkultra Support Group" compilation albums off streaming platforms. They have been replaced with revised versions that exclude the original lineups and feature additional Negative XP material. I think the context of these albums have been deeply misinterpreted and had an overall bad influence in the world.
They were initially created as a way to release my more gimmicky songs on non-album releases and (through the popularity of these songs) give exposure to lesser known internet musicians. My motives were intended to be charitable and positive because I felt like I had never received any help with my own music. I didn't really know the featured artists that well, but eventually got to know some of them better (for better or worse). I also did not really listen to the large majority of the songs being submitted and I would estimate that I did not listen to 99% of the material.
Anyway, I have grown to resent being associated with this collection of musicians and the culture that it bred. In my opinion, there has been no positive personal or even general benefit in creating "Mkultra Support Group" and I would consider it my second greatest failure right behind my involvement with Virginfest and its consequences.
Another intention I had with MSG was to emphasize the importance of individuality and how an individual's character should be judged by their work. However, the effects of MSG seem to have created weird cliques with weird values and motives. Through my experiences I've come to the conclusion that: it's human nature to conform, anti-conformity is bred out of pride, and anti-conformity will inevitably lead to an even more convoluted version of conformity.
Tldr: MSG wasn't real and I hate "the scene."

don't feel bad about it shooter, msg was great, the first two volumes were really good and gave exposure to people that really deserved, it's a shame things eventually took a turn for the worst, but that's how things go, people know what you aimed for with msg, and that's what truly matters at the end, you may consider it a failure but i see it as a successful experiment, you've learned a lot from it, a lot of people enjoyed the songs, without it i wouldn't have found out great artists (good and sane artists) that i still look up to even after years, i have really good memories with msg, and i hope someday you can try it again and have better control with it, i think you have potential to make something good for people, but for that i think you'd need to shift away from these communities filled with internet freaks addicted to discord and twitter
