Sleep Eric. Sleep is the ultimate restoration. Even with tales of legends and powerhouses entering deep slumber before awakening.

I'm torn on how to feel here. Eric is the absolute top of everything going on right now. He's probably the strongest contender on earth stat wise. All the non-earth factions hate him for that because he isn't falling into line. He's also completely and utterly ALONE. He's pretty convinced his mom sacrificed him for more troops and that he was yet another pawn. He feels betrayed by the "no necro" decree as it sounds like Blue would have had to of voted unless they really did remain nuetral. Sounds like his mom voted for it also. She got her troops so f*ck him and his class. If all of this pushes him to develop knew abilities, mores the better. (And it did...) So yeah. After what was thoroughly the most horrible amount of torture he's endured to date (and he's been through the wringer), he finds a group and so desperately wants friends. He wants so badly not to be alone that he will put up with whatever. He will abstain from going against Ron whom clearly has it out for him and is probably a spy for the admins. He will bribe with beverages and drinks. He will rescue them from danger over and over and over. He will let them bicker and complain and be jealous. Because the alternative is worse. I mean this group isn't trying to kill him (except Ron b/c that mofo is definitely bad news). So that's a step up. It's not healthy. It's not smart. Despite all of that, Eric is fighting for some modicum of normalcy in this world that has both utterly gone to crap and has it out for him personally. So yeah. I get wanting a monster to eat this group. Personally, I don't want that. I'm afraid to see what Eric will become if he doesn't find friends to be his touchstone. The lines are so blurred and he sees red so often that, for the sake of the whole world, an Eric with friends is far better than an Eric without.

I think that’s the point. He tried making friends with people he actually cared about and got burned. Maybe him making “friends” with these dorks is a unconscious need to have friends but only with the ability to leave them behind if needed. Look how fast he moved on from Ron who he was “trying” so hard to befriend. He is using them as a crutch for his loneliness.

How long will Eric have to deal with these children before they wake up to reality? They are coming off as spoiled and whiny; making Eric seem desperate for friends.

The weird thing is that the very powerful Eric is acting as such as doormat - he doesn't seem to learn from his experience at all. Why does he continously and suddenly act as if everyone he meets is his best friend and has his best interests at heart - even after being collared and tortured due to betrayal and Eric's own stupidity? Eric is supposed to be a fast learner in combat , where you need to learn from experience. Why is that not applied to his relationships and how he acts after his collaring? If Eric shows improvement by treating others as they treat him, it'll make for a far better story - at least for me.
