Anyone have comic/artbook experience?
🕑 Added 2018-05-01 15:45:33 +0000 UTC Bruno found an illustrator who had worked up a series of fantasy Great War guns. They were so thoughtful I realized that I might now have an opportunity to share a number of guns we would have no chance of photographing for a book.Ivan Yakushev over https://vombavr.artstation.com
Now, of course, you have to weigh business relationships before going crazy all in. So I commmissioned a fantasy piece made of actual tested material from the war and just before. The product was too funny, I had to name and share it.
Ivan has also, tentatively, agreed to work an illustrated book:
The Secret Weapons of the Great War. It will cover guns like:
The Gast
The Hellriegal
The Doppelpistol
The Remington 11 Trenchgun
etc.
However, I have no practical publishing experience and a lot to learn. So if anyone has advice or contacts let me know!

How do you use the periscope stock with the Air Service mag?

I'd say self-publish a test offering as a Kindle book via Amazon: that may net you a real publisher to back a paper codex for those of us who value permanence & ease of use over ubiquity. [Don't get me wrong: I have several Kindle ed.s of books that are just too pricey to get in physical format, & some in both.]

We have a fairly extensive list planned out. I've been keeping notes on weirdness while researching other guns.
My God, it's the Grand Pinger! I remember when /k/ got this into a video game, Army of Two: The 40th Day.

For anyone that's ever played Valkyria Chronicles, this will be instantly recognizable as the fully upgraded rifle at the end of the R&D weapons tree.

My wife and I have worked off and on in the comic book and publishing industry for years now. What type book are you considering? A standard 32pg comic book or something more like a coffee table art book?
It’s like the 1918 version of the Tapco catalog throwing up on a rifle, Very cool
