That description of the "Montenegrin" pretty much is how real men are described in California or New York City. That description and the 500 yards bit is what made me laugh.

True, it's a huge pain to unpack anything from this period. It just so happens to coincide with the golden age of revolver advancement too. rough

@ ~18:00 -- (wrt patents) Hard to say, Othais: English law at that time required that if you wanted an English patent it couldn't be patented somewhere else first, so a lot of (the savvier) inventors delayed patenting something in their own country to file in England first [I believe this was the case for Gatling maybe? Or perhaps LeMat?] Definitely have to do a thorough review of the English patent records first [where the foreign patentees took out the patents in the name(s) of their lawyer(s)] before checking elsewhere.

While I'm certain they would have been very enamoured of the SW500 as you suggest, I'm fairly certain they would have been more satisfied with the 460XVR... ;-D
Sounds like these Montenegrins would have wanted SW500 for edc. Old school.

Heya Beardy, if you need to slide your regular schedule, no sweat. Seeing Gun Jesus, Dino Girl, and your good self, surrounded by an awesome array of lead spitting history will suffice. Still think you should have interrupted normal programming for Christmas/NY, but hey...
