Bought it, was more than happy to pay $6. Great work as always. As per your request for future project ideas.....a similar test with common WWII light machine guns would be fascinating, and would let us see how far that technology progressed. A cheaper, less logistically challenging, and equally entertaining idea would be to cook up a battery of tests for the main rifles of WWI.

Paid for and got mine - great stuff - now, when's the next one?

Just a thought, given that this seems to be quite popular... what about a limited edition Blu-ray release? Had a quick look at a us-based duplication website, and the price seemed quite reasonable (between $5-$10 + tax for 300-1000 disc, in cases, printed, labelled, wrapped etc, the works). They also did an offer on (say) 50 t-shirts, 100 posters etc. Would be something I'd go for next time the big t-shirt/merch campaign comes round. Because we all know how internet videos tend to disappear, and how digital files get lost. I bet a special signed batch would sell like hot cakes.

At the end you guys say that you are looking for idea for next year. I want to see a test in the same way comparing all the third line, used to be black powder but now we need em for the war so lets convert them to a modern spitzer round even if its dangerous rifles.

Great series as always. When Ian put on Othias' glasses he looked like Trotsky with a pony-tail. Spending the huge whopping amount of $6 was well worth it. It did have the side effect of tying up my internet connection for much of a day. Frontier DSL is the next best thing to dial-up. Their idea of a high speed connection is anything faster than USPS mail. As for another similar comparison episode, how about a Brit style mad-minute exercise comparing the main long arms of WWI (not the rare rifles, but the one or two primary long rifles fielded by each of the major combatants).

I spent the money and got the whole project, worth every penny. What a great collaboration makes me glad I support both channels. I’m sure will hear about tests and things you should have done but don’t sweat that. Just getting all the light machine guns in one place was quite an accomplishment. As for your next effort a couple of things come to mind. You could do the same test with the light machine guns from WWII then compare and contrast the improvements and changes and how they improved on the older designs. It would give a wide range of light machine guns including Japan, Italy, the soviets etc. You could also do the main infantry weapons of WWI against each other as well. What bolt action rifle was the best of the war. Everybody has a favorite, keep to 7 or 8 and do the gamut, accuracy, reloading, ballistics, bayonets, mud test.

Will the download count regenerate over time or is it final? As someone with good internet and bad USB drives redownloading stuff has become a habit of sorts.

Just finished bingeing the series, all I will say for now aside from outstanding job is that someone with more talent than me needs to draw Othias the crab...(watch the outtakes)

I did the same thing got the whole series, have the Pay Pal receipt but can't download it..Was before I knew about the Download 3 code..Now what do I do. Only get partial downloads of 1 and 2 so far.

I sent an email earlier letting you know that The videos I downloaded didn't work Othais, but I just tried again and they appear to be working now. Thanks for the consistently great content. If I was not seeking a full time job, I would certainly contribute more than the measly $1 a month I currently do, as you and your team's efforts are well deserving of it.

And don't worry Othias & Ian, I will still have the videos playing on a repeating loop so that you get views to make up for watching the downloaded video (with my data plan its easier to do it that way)

Videos seem to be FIXED. It appears that the early people (myself included) who tried to download the Episodes this morning, received only PARTIAL video files. Most likely a server issue. But now I am down a few downloads, but its ok. For Example: This morning (5am) I downloaded Episode 1 - file was 26.2 MB. Very slow download. I just downloaded Episode 1 Now - File is 2GB. , Very fast download.

Okay the downloads seem to be working properly now because chrome is displaying the total file size to be downloaded and its saying 1.3 gigs for the second episode, didn't say that before...

Im curious to know if other Mac users are ok. For me, it would not play past 30 sec mark (give or take) on every video. I even tried watching it on a android device, still exact issue. Media Player, Media Player Classic, Quicktime, all same issue. I would be willing to bet its a settings issue for the .mp4 running on devices other than Mac.

I'm currently 2 minutes into Episode 3. I'm playing it using Quicktime, which is the default player on my Mac. I've just downloaded it and no issues so far. *Edit - I can skip around episodes 2, 3, and 4 fine with no corruption. I haven't tested the others. Either issues are sorted or it's a player problem?

Yeah I've got the same issue as everyone else...I thought it was because I was behind a VPN but I think now I'll just wait until the bearded one takes a look and not try on a different network yet, still worth it just to donate the 6 bucks so that Othias can eat...

Don't sweat the download issue, just get some proper rest. The first two episodes were awesome and already more than worth the 6 bucks, I'm sure we can all wait a bit more for the rest.

The same file corruption issue, but still worth the full price (so Othais can have another dozen Top Ramens - ha ha). I did waste some possible downloads, though (two of them on the Intro.)

Yeah its a bummer, Im sure he will fix it. When working with videos, the file sizes are stupendous. When setting them for download, a conversion is done to bring them to 20-60mb. Probably something went wrong when they were batch processing these videos.

Unfortunately, I have to report the same file corruption issue. I've tried two computers and multiple media players, just to check, and can't get more than 30sec into any video. At least we're catching this right out the gate.

Hello I purchased your Project Lightning Videos, however there is a big issue. I regret to inform you that every single video downloaded is corrupt and only plays the first 15-30 sec, then crashes. I tried playing these .mp4 videos across, different platforms (Windows Media Player, Classic Media Player, Windows Quicktime, Android Device, ect. ) Every video is the same, it plays the first 15-30sec, then the video just quits. The video shows in the timeline that there is more, but when i scroll past the 30 sec mark, the video just does not play. Cheers

I watch YouTube on my Apple TV and don’t own a computer. Is there anyway to get this project downloaded onto a dvd?? I’d be happy to pay 10-15 bucks for it

Did anyone have issues with the downloads? I tried both on my phone and computer and the video files would run for about a minute and a half before crapping out. Tried to repair the files but no luck
